Here is the thing. DCR's post rating system is really just a another way of posting a or . I think DCR even has a smilie equivalent for each step of the 1-5 on the 5/5 scale.
Personally, I only use to it communicate how funny I think a post is.
No big deal. If it offends, sorry.
I am absolutely astounded how this became such a big issue. If you like a thread, give it a 5, if you do not, give it a zero. Or even better, ignore the rating and move on. Don't most of us do that with smilies anyway? Post rating was created as a colorful way to agree or disagree with an opinion.
What if I am offended by the racoon? Or the thumbsup smilie, or Gee telling people that they are dead, or people promising pictures and do not deliver? Should we get rid of that too? People seriously need to lighten up.
Cardinals.Ken answer me this, how can you say that rating a post for the content value is divisive to ASFN, and yet here you are, calling Jason an idiot. How is that not being divisive? Name calling should be outlawed before post rating. I think you are completely missing the boat here. Yes, I understand that you called him an idiot all in good fun, but guess what, so is post rating.
I commend Sun Devil Jay and Ddogg for keeping post rating for what it is. An extension of the smilies to agree or disagree with a post.

Maybe we should put it to a vote.

I think that the gif is exactly the type of spirit that should be used with post rating. Why not create a 0/5 and a 5/5 smilie. Now the rating system is a smilie, since it is obvious people have no problem with smilies.....

Drop in a link to a smiley that you think will work and have the asfn nerds edit it.
On to question/topic #2. I think that we should mix up the order, although Djaughe's format doesn't really say if we should or not--I'm the mod here, so I'm going to do it how I want it! Either Ken or Jason is going to get screwed with going first since I only have 3 questions. I'll figure that out later. I shouldn't be trying to do this at 3 a.m., but, this is half-assed, so what the hell.
Anyway, question number 2, on the subject of ASFN meet & greets:
Would you, as president, be willing to organize regular (monthly, quarterly, whatever) meetings--understanding that your presence at said meets is not required--just the organization, as part of your presidential duties?
I think I figured it out...D-Dogg is gonna get screwed on answering a question first, but he got first post on the subjects, and I'll let him be the first to post on the FINAL rebuttal (closing arguments, if you will) when all the topics are done. You can even break it into 3 posts, D-Dogg.
So, that said, Cardinals.Ken gets to answer first. You are on the clock, sir.
