People of Mars, you say we are brutes and savages. But let me tell you one thing: if I could get loose from this cage you have me in, I would tear you guys a new Martian ***hole. You say we are violent and barbaric, but has any one of you come up to my cage and extended his hand? Because, if he did, I would jerk it off and eat it right in front of him. “Mmm, that’s good Martian,” I would say. - Jack Handey
The measure of one's individual liberty is proportionate to their acceptance of personal responsibility. Without the latter the former will cease to exist.
If the video game developers put forth the video game as an example of how the world's politics can go terribly wrong despite best intentions, then they should be given credit for it.
Otherwise, I think it's sort of silly to try to marginalize what Ron Paul is saying by basically saying he's a blind squirrel that's found a nut.

Wow. Touchy much?
It's not about credit or comparing squirrels or marginalizing.
Considering this was a thread pointing out those who predicted it, it felt appropriate to include Ghost Recon in there.
Seriously, though it was pretty funny how you had to post the differences between a fictional video game released in 2001 and Ron Paul's take on the issue.
Not every post needs to be an argument or a point/counterpoint.
In fairness, he didn't predict it. He just pays attention to what's going on in the world.
Exactly, he pays attention to what's going on the in world and correctly ascertains how our policies can effect it. He warns us that having a preemptive strike policy will have unintended consequences. To summarize, he says that Russia could play by our rules and attack Georgia with the excuse that they're terrorists and they have to protect their interests just like we're doing in Iraq.
I'll give you that he doesn't exactly "predict" it but he wasn't just paying attention to what was going on in the world. He saw what was going on with us and Iraq compared to Russia and Georgia and correctly concludes that our policy will only encourage Russia to attack Georgia.
