Dick Morris's Electoral Map

As if we needed any further evidence of just how lost these pundits can be... While I would LOVE to see the map play out this way, MI, WI, NV, SD, MO, WA, OR, and even PA have always been in strongly leaning in Obama's favor... How can he be so off??

Dick Morris Maps 2008

Political analyst extraordinaire DICK MORRIS plots out the critical states that may determine whether John McCain or Barack Obama becomes the next president. McCain is pulling ahead in several states, while six others are tossups.

McCain's Numbers

delegates for McCain 222

leaning McCain +68

McCain 290
Obama's Numbers

delegates for Obama 146

leaning Obama +26
Obama 172

76 'tossup' delegates. 270 total delegates needed to win election.

Dick Morris' Analysis of the Map

There was a gigantic turn toward John McCain in the two weeks immediately after the GOP convention. In large part this was due to the Sarah Palin nomination, and the tremendous miscalculation by the Democrats in attacking Palin — particularly on issues important to women, such as her caring for her children. That backfired massively. The anti-Palin attack by the Democrats showed a cultural disconnect with America that is remarkable.
Now, the contest is transitioning from post-convention issues to a race dominated by the economy. The key to that for Barack Obama is to stress
the liability of the incumbent party for the mess that we're in economically. For McCain, it will be stressing that Obama's tax proposals will make the situation worse.
There has been a huge change among unmarried women, particularly, due in part to the hostile reaction of the Democrats to Palin. There are indications that the momentum of the race may be reversing itself again, however, as a result of the economy.

I dont accept anything DICK morris has to offer, he is a shill...

For one, Morris is the only source I have seen showing New Mexico as "leaning McCain"

Hey LIAC,

Not asking you to do the research for me, but do you have examples of other maps that show different?

Honest question.

Who is Dick Morris and why do you consider him a shill?

Some of dick morris's predictions, per wiki:

1) Morris stated that it is most likely that Hillary Clinton would face Condoleezza Rice for the presidency.

2)"I don't give much for his chances," referring to John Kerry challenging Howard Dean for the Democratic nomination

3) predicted that Hillary Clinton would face a "nightmare" in her 2006 senate race against moderate Republican candidate Jeanine Pirro, whose campaign subsequently collapsed within a matter of two months after repeated crushing defeats in the opinion polls. He even went so far as to suggest that Clinton would "give up" and drop out to focus on her 2008 campaign.

And the best of all, I remember seeing this one live
4) "Katrina has the capacity to shape the second Bush term in the same way September 11 shaped his first term -- not only in rebuilding New Orleans but in taking preventative steps around the nation to bolster our defenses against natural and man-made disasters and terror strikes. Responding to disasters is a source of presidential strength and popularity, and Bush is about to show how it is done"

This map makes it a lock obama wins.

Oh yeah, I forgot about popeye the sailor man, morris is garbage:

Quote:
On August 29, 1996, Morris resigned from the Clinton campaign after reports surfaced that he had been involved with a prostitute. A tabloid newspaper had obtained and published a set of photographs of Morris and the woman on a Washington, D.C., hotel balcony. The Daily Telegraph reported that in order to impress the woman, Sherry Rowlands, Morris invited her to listen in on conversations with the President. The Telegraph also alleged that Morris had a preference for "toe-sucking and dominance," and that he regaled Rowlands with a version of "Popeye the Sailor Man," performed in his underpants

I love watching the most bitter man alive. Anything that comes out of his mouth tends to make me chuckle. I picture him eating gummy smurfs and cackling into the lonely night with his blue-tongue wagging as he howls at the moon cursing the Democrats.

He's got Hawaii "leaning" Obama... I guess to Dick 65% to 32% is leaning. He's got Colorado "stron" McCain though the latest poll shows Obama 47% to McCain 45%. What an idiot.
