Barack First Prez Candidate to Disclose Earmarks

Hillary hasn't done it. Edwards hasn't done it. Neither have the Repubs.

No I'm not talking about the tax returns which only Senator Obama and Senator Dodd have disclosed.

I'm talking about the dreaded "earmarks".
In breaking news, apparently missed by ABC and other outlets, Sen. Barack Obama has become the first Presidential candidate to disclose his earmarks. http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post_group/ObamaHQ/CXjx

Oh lord...the only reason he's doing that is because others' will be worse.

And look at his list...eyepopping. I would choke on my own tongue to see Hilary's or McCain's I'm guessing. Earmarks are THE DEVIL. Should be abolished.

$750,000 in Fed government money shouldn't be allocated to Aledo IL for two water towers. IL should be doing the allocation for that. Frustrating.

Kudos to Obama for sharing it though, and at least most of his stuff is at least for the general welfare...scratch that, the Illinois welfare (which is why I have a problem with the Fed funding it)

I'm prepared to be stunned at some of the terrible things others are putting earmarks out there for and the amounts.

Welcome to the world of legislation! I'm glad he at least showed all his cards. I think we would all absolutely freak out if we saw all of Hillary's...

Wow! Good move. The list was sickening though. His probably wasn't even that bad either. We need a reformer.
