Who's the biggest threat to US safety?
With the way world events are shaping up who do you think represents the biggest threat to us?

The present largest threat to this country are terrorists organizations, especially the radical Muslim terrorists. If and when we overcome that group, we need to turn our attention towards China. They will pose the next big threat. but it is an economic threat rather than a "kill you all" threat.

Since terrorists organizations have declared that America must fall, I'd have to go with them.
Following that, N. Korea because of the insane dictator. That's a really unstable situation.
China is scary because they're so big and militarily and economically powerful, but because they're a very established, stable nation I don't think they're as likely to fly off the handle as N. Korea. We're more likely to get things done through diplomacy with China than N.K. or even Iran, IMO.
But, the biggest threat to our security today is far and away terrorists.

I would have gone with 'terrorist orgs' but since they are being backed by Syria and Iran I picked 'Iran'.
China is down the road but yeah eventually they will be are biggest threat.

Why would China attack the United States?
I can see China as being an economic threat, and even an "unfriendly" nation, but I really don't see a scenario in which we go to war with China.

I don't see it either. However there is the whole secret military build up that puzzles me. I do not think it is to attack the U.S. but to makes the U.S. think about support for Taiwan.
My China response in the future is more economic.

Every super power throughout history has been attacked by the next up and coming super power. All through history. Its just a matter of who and when and right now we are top dog. Wont last forever.

I agree it won't last forever, but I disagree that it'll end in blows. The Soviet Union didn't attack us, and the resulting Cold War signlaed a shift in how superpowers deal with each other, IMO.
I think it'll be the same with China. We may not be on good terms. We may be suspicious of each other to the point of paranoia, but we both have way too much to lose by going to war.

Throughout the course of history empires have fallen not because of attacks from the outside, but rather due to conflicts within.
Ourselves...

"ourselves'...its alot easier to deal with external threats without having politicians stab each other in the back.
