What Country/Group poses the greatest threat to the U.S. ?
What External Country/Group poses the greatest long-term threat to the United States and our way of life, and why?

China,
Building huge military (air, land and sea) and advancing military technology, making major economic power moves, renewed thirst for natural resouces (mayneed to invade countries or start war over things like oil), desire to be the new super-power, issues overTaiwan, unfair trade, and possessing nuclear capibilities.

I voted "other"
By that I meant the combination of Syria, Jordan, Yemen, Iran, Pakistan, etc. harboring and providing safe haven to the "evil doers"
(Just by typing evil doers I had GW's voice going in my head)
I really believe that though.
I believe the strategic footprint we have established in Iraq is the real reason for the invasion. So we can hit any of the aforementioned countries easily.

If you didn't want me to vote for Canada, why did you make it an option? If something else bad happens, we should blame Canada and invade.
I would have liked to see an option for us, Americans, as being our biggest threat.

Is it because of their beady eyes and their floppy heads?

I voted for Al cowards or any offshoot group that spins off...to me they have now become the piranha inwhich any location is vulnerable.
Sure China is becoming a big economic player and there's alot of hubbub about their military. However - I don't believe China is looking for more geographic 'elbow' room.
But what can't be ignored is that they also had the largest shift of people move from the lower to the middle class in global history...combine that with their title of 'world's biggest exporter' and, potentially, the 'world's biggest market'. Which means that times are changing.
One can argue that the Far East will regain its historic place as the 'center' of the world - even though they will be facing tremendous challenges in providing clean air, clean water, and disease control for their huge population.
We can prepare for China and accept future changes to 'diminish' the threat level.
Al Coward on the other hand has proven they know how to hit economic and political nerves that get instant results.

Yes - the other. Although I had intended the poll to be EXTERNAL threats....I should have made that point clearer.

Still very workable...besides I can see claim of the 'greatest' threat being ourselves.

Funny, how the sniping at me tends to prove my point. Americans sniping at other Americans for something as meaningless as daily poll on a message board.
