Worse. They do a poor job and waste the taxpayers dough at the same time.

Better. I am screened more than I was prior to 9/11, but I still don't think enough is being done ... or maybe the problem is not enough attention is being paid to HOW things are being done.

Generally seems a bit more thorough, but very inconsistent. Not sure there's bang equivalent to the increased bucks.
I got through half dozen airports with a mini-swiss-army-knife on my keychain before one stops me and makes a polite big fuss about it - I NEVER get into the old courthouse building without being reminded to leave it outside.
The most thorough was a damn-near strip search at the Eugene Airport on a weather-delayed flight, where they actually opened up make-up bottles and eyeglass cases. Took over 30 minutes, and they were fairly brusque, but it was the only time I felt reassured that if I HAD been trying to sneak something through the gate, I would have been caught.

You know, I flew six weeks after 9/11. I found more security at Turner Field before I went on the tour than I did at Philly International before I got on the plane.
I think things have slowly improved, but, like AZZenny said, things are inconsistent.

1. It's nice having American citizens who speak English and have had a background check working the lines.
2. Remembering that the government created a huge agency with huge responsibilities virtually overnight, it should be no surprise that there are some problems.... but it appears they are addressing them.
The final product, which we should see in two or so years, will be worth the money, IMHO. I voted "overall, better but not great."

Gotta agree with you. As much as I hate doing that.
