I'm probably somewhere between torture away and as long as it isn't me.

I'm ok with torture in some circumstances.

Torture has done nothing but tarnish the American legacy.

Torture has been used for as long as America has been a nation. So I dont see how it has tarnished anything? Or was your view of what this country used to be different then what it was? Oh and at what point in history was our legacy tarnished IYO? Just in the last 8 years of using it?

Torture, for the majority, doesn't work. It's against the law. It doesn't help our image abroad. So enlighten me Shane, why do you think it rules?

I knew a gal once who kept whips and chains in her bedroom. I never had the nerve to go in there and find out exactly what she planned on doing with them.

The legacy wasn't shining too bright to begin with. IMO.

It doesn't help our nations image that we went to war against most of the world's wishes either.

I doubt Georgey "Coke Head" Bush is doing much to help either.

Because IMO I have a completely different view of it. I believe it does work. Not always. But it works.

I also could care less about our image to the rest of the world. Thats one of the problems with our country today. To many people concerned about what everyone else thinks. Honestly why do you care what they think? Our practices as a country are far above every other country out there in the world bar none.

What countries are you so concerned with protecting our image from? Do tell? Im pretty sure that whichever ones you list I could probably find some story about human atrocities far greater than anything we have done in our history and probably within the last 50 to 100 years if not sooner.

Shane, I love you, but are you freaking kidding me? Perception is reality. How people perceive a country matters more than what is actually happening. So whatever torture is incurred will be magnified across the globe.

You don't think people confess to things that aren't true because they are being "tortured?" There have been studies (I mean DNA evidence) that show that people confess to false things that DNA proves to exonerate them.

Whatever. I hate these debates. Live and let live.

I dont give a rats ass about world perception. Do you see the amount of people that would like to take residence in this country declining? Doubtful.

All of these countries that you all want to protect our so called image from are 10 fold worse in human atrocities. I just dont give a damn what the rest of the world thinks.

I have no doubt that that torture has made innocent people confess to things they didnt do. That is why I am of the belief that unless they are caught red handed its hands off.

Oh and I love you too! Although I would love you more if you were playing!
