Television content
The National Organization for Women (NOW) released a report claiming that programming on the six major networks is sexist. Television remains very much a man's world, NOW said, with women serving primarily as eye candy. Do you agree or disagree?

I voted even, even though there more women oriented programs than men oriented. TV is more geared to women because they are the ones who spend the bulk of the money and a lot of the ads are women friendly.

I voted, 'No, programming in general is more frequently aimed at women with men often shown as "bufoons"'. I get very tired of seeing all these commercials in particular where there is this poor dumb man that just can't do anything and his woman has to come along and save his sorry ASS. As a woman, they just piss me off, because those commercials are just such a poor view on families and life in general. Why must they make the dad look like a moron? I know A LOT of men that are VERY good fathers and husbands that can cook, clean, take care of the kids... Heck, I even know a couple of stay at home dads! And let me tell you, they rock!
I guess I'm just fed up with so many women in this country thinking they are so superior. Yes, men and women DO have some different roles in a household, BUT, neither the man nor woman should be degraded.

I guess the people who design those advertisments must think they are funny since it is usually presented in a comical context, but who in the world laughs at that stuff? The advertising world is a dreadful place.

I have no idea who would find it funny. One that comes to mind is I think a ziploc container commercial where the dad is lying on the white couch in a room with white carpet, talking on the phone to the mom, "No honey, we're not in the living room! I wouldn't let the baby spill anything in here, don't worry!" Then the dad has to quickly hang up because the baby was going for his container of salsa. That commercial and hundreds, if not thousands of others, just paint men in a horrible light. Another one that comes to mind is a mom finding new stains on the carpet under rugs and such and the dad, kids and dog are all looking guilty, but "super mom" comes to save the day with her spot cleaner. Whatever! Like the mom is SO dang perfect that she just NEVER spills anything? And like the dad is such a cowering idiot that he can't clean up after himself, he just covers the stains like a little child. 99% of the men I know are NOT like that. They are respectful, responsible people.
Ok, sorry, I think I'm done with my rant, for now.

If women were portrayed in commercials and sitcoms as bumbling idiots, as men are portrayed, the feminist groups would be outraged and giving the networks a tremendous amount of hassle.
There are no groups defending "good ol' boys" rights; well at least none that aren't on the FBI's watch list. ;-)

My point exactly! This just sucks! It's wrong and it just annoys me the double standard that is obviously widely accepted in general.
Another one that just pisses me off is the Sonic commercials. I just want to smack the people that make those things.

I like the Bud Light commercial where the dude puts on a helmet and goes into dangerous situations.
The one where he was going to eat dinner with his girlfriend without checking out the hot chicks table is classic.

It's funny cuz I can't stop checking out the hot chicks table.......thus ruining every dinner.

At least that commercial has a basis in reality!
