I went with the millions and millions of decent folks, but populated with a few bad apples.
Of course even 1/2% of a billion is about 5,000,000 bad apples.

The muslim mindset probably varies depending on what part of the world the person was raised.

What concerns me are the videos of Muslim school children chanting "death to the infidels" or something similar... Contrary to popular belief it is not a religion which teaches tolerance and love.

Are pretty tolerant folks, but there's a helluva lot more than a few bad apples

I voted the second option.
BTW - if the question was about Christians, I would have answered the same.

I assumed you meant Muslims across the board, not just fundamentalist Middle-Eastern Muslims. So I picked #2, although I suspect the reality is #3.5.
I just saw a quote from the Koran that was chilling -
"Prepare whatever resources and troops you must to terrorize the enemies of God."
Doubtless one could find equally nasty quotes in the Bible - both are basically 'convert or be damned' type religions in practice.

The avatar (pun intended) of Islam is Muhammed, of Christianity Jesus Christ.
While Muhammed is known to have personally practiced and espoused violence against non-believers, Jesus personally practiced and espoused acceptance, love and non-violence towards all people.

Please inform all the "Christians" running the country of this fact - thanks.

I voted number 2, although if there was a choice for a very small number of extraordinarily bad apples, a fair number of Muslims at least sympathetic to them, and the majority disgusted by them, that would have been my choice.
The ones I've known personally (largely from going to school in Jerusalem for 6 months back in 1989) were remarkably friendly, we'd even get invited in for dinner by total strangers just walking down the street. The common refrain was that they hate U.S. policy because they hate Israel, but the vast majority were great and I made a few very good friends. Then again, my friends and I were baraged by rocks driving in a VW bus through downtown Hebron, too.
