View Poll Results: Should "Under God" be kept or removed from the Pledge of Allegiance?
POD 10/13: Keep or remove "Under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance?
There's been lots of debate over the years regarding the pledge of allegiance and whether or not "under God" should remain. Here are some websites regarding the history of the pledge and information put forth by organizations on both sides of the issue.
A history of when and why the pledge was written, changes to it over time and more. http://pledgeqanda.com/
Should we remove it and every other God reference from every other document, coin, bill, etc, or should we leave it be as the Founders intended? Keep it, by God!

Keep it. It's traditional at this point, it's preferred by the vast majority of Americans, and to everybody who feels somehow offended by hearing the word (gasp) "God," well, get over it as best you can.
40 - aren't you old enough to remember the pledge to America - with NO god reference?
It is a fact that we have 50+ years of the religious takeover of the pledge...

I say keep it. If you don't want to say it, don't say it.
We actually had a kid in school who was from Ghana and, as I remember, he never said the pledge. He would stand out of respect, but he would never say the pledge. I don't see anything wrong with that.
I stand for the Canadian athem at baseball and hockey games when my team plays a team from Canada. No biggie.

Heck even both political parties are for the pledge...back in 2002 the Senate voted 99-0 and the House of Representatives voted 416-3 to reaffirm the words "under God" in the pledge.
I'm sure this is where KoC says something to the effect:

I can see they why someone would vote for this even if they were against it. It was going to pass anyway and voting against it makes you unpatriotic.

LOL...good to know that Congress was working on such important things in 2002. Can't think of anything else that they may have wanted to discuss.
