POD 1/19/2006 - Should Gays/lesbians be allowed to adopt children?
Some states ban gays and lesbians from adopting children - others do not. Many of the children I know that were adopted by gays and lesbians were older/disabled children unwanted by heterosexuals.

Of course they should. I wasn't aware of some hetereosexual trait that let us corner the market on loving and responsibility.

All other things being equal I think kids are better off with a parent from each gender.
Having said that, I don't think there is any reason to out right preclude same sex couples from adopting kids.
A stable loving home is better than a foster home or an orphanage no matter what sex the parents are.

Larry Elder says the biggest problem black kids face is not racism, but single parent homes.
I have no problem with gays adopting children. If a heterosexual couple watches porn or is into kinky sex, does that preclude them? Sexual preference should not be a consideration in this matter.
Unless you're into barnyard animals and/or pickle patches.

Really, Divorces go so well that the Mother and the Father equally raise their children. My point was not to really inforce outlawing divorce but that many children are raised by a single parent.
