In fact, along those lines, if you are saying that castration would not be an adequate deterrent and that these criminals would just kill their victims instead....doesn't that make these select few examples unreformable?

There are people out there that do terrible things and no amount of punishment will stop them from doing it again. As a society, it is our duty to protect our people from repeated attacks.

This is why I would have no problem being the person that pulled the switch.

Here's another thought. Would you buy a lottery ticket to off someone? Say there's a really heinous criminal everyone wanted to kill. Then the state sold lottery tickets for the priveledge to kill this heinous person. Would you buy a ticket? What if the proceeds went to help the victims, homeless, or any other good cause? Their death would bring goodness into the world. Then could you do it? Would you buy a ticket?

I would.

I still have a gut feeling Shaq will be better next season (2008/2009) after our docs have a full off season to work their magic on the Big Saguaro!

I would if I knew for certain that the person was guilty.

I would have no problem doing it at all.
