Physicians DO NOT end a persons life, they do it themselves. The Physician prescribes the drugs to do it, but the patient is the one who serves themselves.

I don't think anyone here would argue killing another in self defense.

Do you view war as self defense?

no- the terminally ill person is assumed to have REQUESTED death.
Yes - some death row inmates admit their guilt and accept their fate, some just get tired of the fight , but some deny their guilt, and some innocents have been executed.

I consider myself as a peaceful person but I am not a pacifist. I do not see all wars as a self-defense issue and I don't limit the use of force to the point of deadly force as necessarily a self-defense issue.

I believe the requirments to be appoved for assisted suicide to be far more astringent than buying guns and ammo at K-mart.

You know I am against all guns, but I never have singled out any one source. I've not cheered for the lawsuits either.

Really? All wars? So if one country invades another, they are acting in self defense?

I'm just trying to understand how you justify one causing the death of another as ok in some circumstances.

If you ever had to watch a loved one die a painful horrible death, you wouldn't compare a doctor compasionatly ending someone's suffering to a murderer's excecution. Not the same whatsoever. I hope you never have to compare the two in your own life.

I still have a gut feeling Shaq will be better next season (2008/2009) after our docs have a full off season to work their magic on the Big Saguaro!
