View Poll Results: Can you be a feminist and be against abortion?
but you say you would never have one. why? is it because you might feel ready for kids, or because you don't think that you could bring yourself to do it? sometimes things that are wrong are illegal. that's the way a decent society has to operate. why is anything illegal then? why not just put your trust in humanity, and hope that people make the right choices?
I didn't say I would NEVER have one. I said I don't think I could. Really easy for me to say sitting here knowing I'm not pregnant.
I don't think it's murder and, if I had an abortion, I wouldn't think of myself as a murderer either. And I don't think of the people I know who have had abortions as murderers, abominations or blights on society.
I knew a girl in college who was 100% pro-life ... til she thought she was pregnant and I had to drive her to the local clinic for a pregnancy test during our freshmen year. Point? I dunno. Just rambling.

You answered your own statement. Sometimes. However its not wrong. So things that arent wrong should be illegal to? What if I think its wrong to have a bible in your house? Does that mean I should be able to lobby and have that put in our laws?
What if I think you should get capital punishment for public displays of religion? See how unimportant it is what I think? Why do you think what you think is so important?
Sure, start lobbying. Change the Constitution if you can. More power to you. Don't be surprised when we fight back though.

ok, i understand that you wouldn't call it murder. but why the need for another classification? if you kill a pregnant woman, and her child isn't a person yet, than killing her is the same as killing anybody else on the street. she shouldn't get different treatment than anyone else who is murdered.
Okay folks...is it safe to say the women can be a feminist and be against abortion?
The poll says "yes", but let's look at who is aguing against abortion and compare that to their views on feminism in general. I get the feeling it's non-feminists who tend to be the ones voting "yes".

there is an inherant moral code within all of us. those extremes you mentioned are silly and not at all comparable to abortion and you know it. we will never be able to say definitively "this is when life begins!" as such, we should not be taking the chance that life is not being taken.
