Mankind's time on earth is limited, Biblical prophecy will be fullfilled.
Sorry, a busy work day and a slow news day combined to make this POD late.
Catastrophic earthquakes and hurricanes, overpopulation and global warming, armed conflicts scattered across the globe...
Without respect to timeframe...
What is the future of mankind on this planet? Due to mankind's excesses will the earth eventually become inhabitable? If so will the population immigrate to another planet/solar system? Or will there be an adjustment to population, perhaps through a nuclear event or epidemic, resulting in a post apocalyptic "Mad Max" scenario. Or will Biblical prophecy be fullfilled?

'Run.... save yourselves..... your weapons are useless against them!!!!'
Meteor... definite possibility!
So you don't accept the premise of the movie Armegeddon, with Bruce Willis, where they send a crew up to "deflect" the meteor with a nuclear explosion.
P.S. - I ought to point out that if your prophecy is accurate, then running is also usless.

One way or another our time is limited--Nukes? Maybe. Meteor? Maybe. Pollution? Maybe. Biblical prophesy? I don't think so, but maybe al of these are related.
Who knows? But I don't think anything lasts forever.

I am saddened that I am one of two people who sees humanity as a limitless potential. While we may exhaust the planet's resources, I fully believe we will have expanded into the colonization of other worlds by that time.
Think of all that man has accomplished and then realize that we have touched a fingernail of our physical, mental, and spiritual capabilities.
Biblical prophecy?
I would have voted that we will evolve/devolve in the long term into another species.
Long term means millions of years
