I went to the dentist today, and they said i have to have my wisdom teeth out. They are impacted, turned sideways. Basically, i've heard this is going to be very painful. Oh well.

Dude the wisdom teeth don't really hurt that much. You normally get put out while they do the pulling and then you get some good meds (see KingofCards thread on medicine for the best types)....
Overall it was a good experience. My wife waited on me hand and foot and I ate Wendy's Frosty's for two straight days...

I disagree, I had all 4 removed and they were impacted as well... the root canal thread on here has some peeps talking about pain, I have never had a problem with the root canal, but all I can say about the Wisdom teeth experience is "OMFG"... Thank God you only have to do that once... That was a horrendous few days of recovery... And... I put it off, had straight teeth, waited a little too lone and now my bottom teeth in the front are kind of pressed together with the middle two kind of overlapping on the outside edges... Get it done quick...
Dont use a straw for days after... I did not listen and used one and sucked my wounds open...

I agree. With the percosets I had it wasn't a big deal.
Evil words! I got the dry sockets, and they had to put this stuff that was like medicine soaked bark in the holes that were left by the teeth coming out. They jammed the sour bark down in the gaps in my teeth and it had to sit there for over a week.
