I'm torn between posting this here or in gaming, but since this is really about fitness, I opted for here. If the powers that be decide it's better in the gaming forum, I'm cool with it being moved.
That said, we got the wii fit awhile ago; finally busted it open 5 days ago...I really, really like it. There's yoga, aerobics, strength training, balance exercises...something for everyone. I've found that a lot of the exercises are fun, and it's also a bit competitive because it ranks your performances on the various exercises with the other people on it, too.
It tracks your weight & bmi for you...records your time spent exercising, etc. Anyway, to anyone even remotely thinking about investing in this, I recommend it highly.

Hmmm. My wife wants one after she pops out the bun in the oven in February. I gotta say that I'm intrigues as well. I go to the gym and lift a lot for bulk, but I think I'd like the Wii fit for aerobic training (I ain't going into one of those damned classes!) nad to generally cut....

I think you'd both like it. dcr says the strength training stuff is harder than you'd expect. I haven't done the strength stuff yet because, to be quite honest, I have no interest in being any stronger. I'm plenty strong for a female. If anything, sometimes I wish I were a little less muscle-y.

I think I'm muscle-y enough too. I'm 5'10"/210, so I'm a stocky dude. My only problem is my beer belly, though it ain't a huge deal. I just have to rip up a bit. If I got to 195, I'd be a friggin rock. I'll work with this Wii fit with my wife after my new kid is born....
I had been doing weights for about a year, but since I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in June, I was having a hard time balancing the workouts with my food and insulin. I decided to kind of take it easy on myself and am starting the Fit tomorrow.

I worked out on it for about an hour yesterday. I usually try to do all of the events one time. Some of the poses on there are very unforgiving. The half moon pose in the Yoga section is damn hard and you can feel it working almost right away.
