Okay I have had the same dentist my whole life, but something seriously creepy has happened. I used to have this really nice, really pretty hygienist, but she retired because she got pregnant...talk about being selfish.
So they stuck all her people with a male. So the first time I came in for an appointment with him, they had like this mini intervention with me. "Okay this is Terry, he is taking over Donna's patients, are you okay with that, he is a male?" There were like 12 people in the room and I didn't want to sound like a homophobe or something so I played it cool and said, "Yeah sure"
So the guy does my teeth and it was the worst experience of my life. Instead of being soft and ginger like my dear sweet Donna, he spent like 50 minutes scraping my teeth with that pick thing. He pushed against my teeth with brutal force and I was literally sweating I was so uncomfortable and horrified by these events. When I got home I curled up in a ball on the couch and shivered with fear for like 3 hours. But I have to admit that my teeth were never cleaned so well in my life.
So I made a brash decision and called and requested not to see "Terry" again. The receptionist asked why and I told her that he was too rough with me. I sounded like a total panzy but I didn't care, this was real trauma, my mouth was sore for like 2 weeks.
So I go back in today and guess who is standing there waiting for me?? Friggen Terry!!! He assults my teeth and gums AGAIN today, but 10 times worse. My cleaning appointment took almost 2 hours, Donna never took more than 20 minutes. I am in absolute shock and pain and I think he was extra rough because I complained.
What should I do??? Should I call and complain again or should I leave the only Dentist I have ever known??? He is the friggen tooth Nazi, I think I need group therapy after this

Dude with teeth like that you better thank him for putting in the extra time! Remember the fizz is soda pop is bad for yer teeth!
Keep going to the dentist, but explain that you will leave if Terry will be interacting with you.
My wife is a dental hygenist in Sedona, so you can always head down there...

Yeah this one funny thread. Ryan just tell them that you've been with them for so long and you have every right not to have rough "Terry" clean your teeth anymore.

Question is Ryan, after all the roughness, how is the back of your throat????
Best post ever Ryan. Like a friggin' episode of Seinfeld. All we would need to do is create a romantic link between your character and the receptionist and this script writes itself. I guarantee it would be better than 90% of the crap on TV today.

Sadly, up until a year and a half ago, I had A LOT of experiences like yours! I had always had rude, mean, rough, unkind hygienists and dentists! Then I found my current dentist's office. The hygienists are great, the dentist is awesome, I never thought I'd say this, but I actually ENJOY going to the dentist now! LOL! I enjoy this office so much, that once both of my kids are in school, I want to actually go to school to be a dental hygienist! After having MANY bad dental experiences, and now knowing that they're not all like that, if I were you, I'd complain!!! That's just sick and wrong for them to put you through that! Go in and talk face to face with the dentist. If he (or she) is a caring enough person, they'll not think you're a panzy. It's your MOUTH for goodness sake! That's some major pain you're talking about! JMO!
