"I'm training for so my son grows up in a healthy home. I never got guidance as a kid and my weight has been a roller coaster all my life. To me, soda was the only thing you drank with lunch and dinner and you ate until you were not hungry anymore. Nathan will not know what soda is until he is old enough to understand what it does to you.

Well, I got the company email last week saying they are sponsoring a team for the PF Changs run again, so I'm in. I ran the 1/2 marathon last year with relative ease, so I'm leaning towards doing the full this year. I'll have to see how my training goes before I commit.
Ran an easy 3 miles on thursday and then another 4 on saturday and felt pretty good. Unless I've forgotten one, this was the first time actually jogging since the race in January. I've just been playing hoops once or twice a week.
I plan to run twice during the week (3 or 4 miles) and then do a long run on the weekend, gradually increasing my distance each time.
I haven't been running since I started back at school (well, except for my students who occasionally bolt out the door). I think it's been almost a month. Ouch!
I need to start making this a priority again, especially if I want to do the 1/2 marathon again.

Ran a nice easy 9 miles this weekend. I felt pretty good. My knees/shins are holding up surprisingly well, no pain yet whatsoever. I need to decide in 2 weeks whether to run the half or the full. I'll do a 10'r this weekend and then an 11'r next weekend and if all goes well I'll probably shoot for the full.
If it helps at all JG, it''s much easier to train once you've already been there. It took about 1/3 the time to get back in shape to where I was last year.
Well, I took the plunge and signed up for the full. I figured I'd better do it now because I'm not getting any younger. I've always wanted to give it a try.
Ran 10 miles 2 weeks ago. It totally wiped me out because I was pushing my daughter in her jogging stroller the entire way. I did 11 miles last weekend and felt pretty good. I've got a 13.5 mile course mapped out for today, mostly on the canal. It's going to be a beautiful day for a nice long run.
