So I called ryen tonight to see if he wants to use the hot tub for his sore muscles and he had just gotten back from the doctor. I guess one of his teammates is over 300 pounds, rolled over on Ryen in some drill and they think he fractured his left wrist where the bone meets the thumb
he's 14 and still growing and apparently the xray isn't conclusive they have to wait a few days to be sure if it's really fractured or just severely sprained. So he's out at least 7-10 days and probably longer so he's almost assured to miss part of the season. He finished practice with the injury but when he got home the wrist was so swollen his mom took him to the doc where they got the bad news.
Poor kid I can hear the disappointment in his voice. Was really looking forward to getting to watch him play so I hope for his sake and mine it heals up quickly.

That's what I said. From looking on the internet the most likely fracture is what they call the navicular fracture and if that's the case with him still growing (complicates the healing process) his recovery time will be 10-12 weeks which means he's probably going to miss the entire season.
So I'm really hoping it turns out to be just a bad sprain or that it heals up quickly he's just dying to get out there and play and they're not going to let a 14 year old kid play with a broken wrist.
I think D-Dogg had a similar injury when he was a lad which resulted in at least 2 additional breaks in his life. Hopefully the kid will get back on the field soon.

I'm crossing my fingers for no break, I checked out his schedule and if he misses 10 weeks he might get to play in 4 games at the end of the year. Ironically the first possible game would be against my old highschool.
