Should I be sore all week??

I don't have a problem with it, because I at least know that I worked hard at the gym, but I do take a day off from lifting any weight (focusing only on abs and cardio) and have 1 light "toning" day, but I always hear about "recovery time" should I re-arrange my schedule so that I'm not as sore all week, or does the soreness mean I'm in the process of building muscle. I'm basically sore daily, in some part of my body from weight training. Let me know gang!

Well my experience has always been that I am sore 2 days after a hard workout. I take creatine which helps a lot. Without it, I dont think I would get half of what I get out of my workouts.

If you are just getting back into it after a fair amount of time off, then you should be sore for awhile. Over time that will go away and you won't have to deal with it.

It is very disconcerting to beginners because they think "I'm gonna have to put up with THIS everyday?" They don't. It subsides.

The other answer is quit being a sissy girl and stop all that whining.

I think Barry Bonds used to have problems with soreness after workouts. Maybe you could find out what he did?

True that Harley. I'd rather be sore from lifting weights, then sore because I fell asleep wrong on the couch after pigging down a tub of vanilla ice cream and an Entemanns butter pound cake!

If you are 20 years old, NO! If you're in your early forties, then YES! In fact, as soon as you hit forty, you will be sore all week for no reason at all sometimes!

I still have a gut feeling Shaq will be better next season (2008/2009) after our docs have a full off season to work their magic on the Big Saguaro!
