My apologies

Hello all! I owe you guys an apology big time. I have obviously not been posting very much in a really long time! I started working 2 months ago (oddly right about the time when my posting went down! ). I've dropped a clothing size in the past 2 months! WOO HOO!!!! The scales still say the same thing, but I've had to buy newer, smaller clothes! So that's all good in my opinion!

My allergies have settled in my lungs causing asthma-like symptoms. I have been having horrible allergy/asthma attacks, to the point that I'm coughing so hard I'm getting headaches and can't breath very well. My dr just put me on an inhaler. So hopefully I'll be able to breath again!

I can't say I'll be posting very much more than I have been recently, but I will try to check in more often! I miss you guys!

I am SO PROUD of all of you that have been keeping up with your workouts and posting about them! You all are awesome!

To our wonderful recently smoke-free friends, WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!! You guys are doing so great!

We need to throw a big SMOKE FREE, low fat, low cal party to celebrate how great this group has come together to encourage one another and help improve the health in each of us, one little baby step at a time!!!!!!!!!

CQ - we've missed ya!

Sorry to hear about your breathing problems - from a lifelong allergy/asthma sufferer, you have my sympathies.

BTW - did the doctor check for Valley Fever?

Aside from Valley Fever, which I think you should be checked for because it was a great suggestion, molds and such hit different parts of the country at different times. Your symptoms sound seasonal since you were flying high earlier. Plus, when I lived in the dorms, they cranked the heaters this time of year and you can get really dried out. A humidifier could help if that was the case. I think being checked for Valley Fever is a good idea.

I still have a gut feeling Shaq will be better next season (2008/2009) after our docs have a full off season to work their magic on the Big Saguaro!

Well, he did not check for Valley Fever. But now I am having some very odd reactions from the inhaler. I've been on the phone off and on today with the Dr about it. I'll mention the Valley Fever thing when they call back in a bit. The place where I work just tore up the carpet in the lobby of my building the same week they seeded the lawn outside. So on top of my horrible grass allergies, the ripping up of the carpet, sanding down the glue under and laying tile, I'm sure that's where this whole thing stems from. I go get my bi-weekly allergy shot tomorrow, so I'm going to talk to them about this, since it is an allergy/asthma clinic. Perhaps they'll be able to offer me some more help.

Whom do you see (I think we have talked about this before) Dr Chu?

You could have some serious mold/fungi floating around your office.

Yes, I see Dr Chu for my allergies. I went to my PCP yesterday about this to make sure it wasn't an infection. Since we now know it is not, I'll be talking to Dr Chu about it. I like Dr Chu, he's so helpful and understanding!!!!!! I like that he actually LISTENS! The allergist I had previously seen in the same office, some woman, can't remember her name, heavy accent, totaly b!atch, acted like she was above everyone. So annoying. I was very happy when I switched to Dr Chu when that chick left the Allergy/Asthma Clinic!!!

Got my allergy shot today. The nurses were all worried about me when I started coughing like a chain smoker on her death bed after I got my shot. I tried to tell them that I've been doing that for almost a month now, but they flipped out and made me take an antihistamine (even though I already took one this morning, they wanted to be extra safe) and sit for another 10 minutes in the office. Heck, at least I know they have my best interest at heart! LOL!

Anyhow, I made an appt to see Dr Chu next Thursday, possibly will get tested for asthma now.

Yes, Dr Chu is a great dr, great guy! He's also great with kids! When my kids went in to get tested, he had them so entertained, it was awesome!

Sorry it's taken me awhile to reply! Thanks for asking Jon!

Well, I finally have my allergies under control. 2+ weeks with that annoying inhaler, switched allergy meds, back to Allegra I go with a 12 mth Rx for the inhaler to use as needed, up'd my allergy shots to every 1-2 weeks instead of 2-3 weeks.

I've now been on Ritalin for a couple of weeks for my ADD. That's been odd, getting adjusted to thinking clearly and being more focused in life, for about 6 hours a day. As soon as it wears off, I'm right back to my loony self, spinning my wheels trying to do anything. The dr wants me to stay on this dosage for one full month. I go back in on Dec 2 to discuss how the meds have been working for me and such.

On the plus side, my bro-in-law has moved out! So we have our back room back again! I used the treadmill SO much more when it was back there than when it's been anywhere else in the house. While I've enjoyed having it in the living room, it's almost like when I see it day in/day out, I start to not even notice it's there. We'll be moving it back there most likely this coming weekend.

Oh, btw, I dropped ANOTHER pants size!!!!!!!! I've switched to teaching 3 1/2-5 year old kids now instead of 2 1/2-3 1/2 year old kids. The older ones are MUCH more active and not so much just the sit and play group. Which I LOVE! The other teacher of that class and I have been playing this cd with the kids that is full of VERY active music, ones that have the kids get up and dance, almost like kid aerobics! We've been doing it with them, for about 20 minutes each day, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. It's gotta be working, because I had to retire a pair of jeans I bought 3 weeks ago because they got so baggy that I had to cinch them up with a belt just to keep them on! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!! Plus, the kids go home so tired that their parents tell us they ASK to take a nap! The mom's love that!!!! We all have so much fun doing this, the kids are laughing their heads off, so are we! We're jumping, spinning, hopping, reaching, stretching...

Go kids aerobics!!!!!!!
