I need to gain stamina ASAP.

I have a block near my house that's about 3/4's of a mile. If I do 4 laps of alternating walking/running, added with the pyramid of advanced burpees that I do twice a day, will I be able to gain my lungs back? I really want to build my endurance up again so I can be able to do sprint workouts by the time summer starts.

I'm disgusted with myself that I'm at rock bottom after being a varsity track guy in HS.

Are you sure this "stamina" you seek isn't for other purposes?

Jump rope continuously.

To increase my stamina for basketball, I would run 2-3 miles daily, during which I would alternate my pace from jogging to sprinting and back to jogging without ever stopping.

Run sprints now.

Push ups and sit ups will also help.

Hmm, can't help with the stamina but some agility and crit rating can't hurt in the sack.

Noo. It's that I'm not toned and I want to get in shape again because it's a drag feeling "heavy", especially now that summer is right around the corner - I hate being hot and sweaty.

It has nothing to do with sex/dating/whatever. The goal is for a bit of self-improvement for the sake of my health and a budding endorphin addiction. The burpees were good to start with (I burn through a pyramid of 10 with ease now) and my push ups and sit ups are improving, but I need more to burn fat - I could bust out the old Tae-Bo tapes, but that's sort of a drag and I want to be outside.
