At my peak last summer it was 4 reps at 305. Well... 3 and a half. I never was able to get that 4th without a spot. Nowadays i've been trying to tone down so I've been doing sets of 25 pushups. I can get 2 sets at 25 but the third i can never get more than 12. My goal is to get 4 sets of 25 for 100 pushups.
Two years ago before my shoulder injury I was working out hard and getting really strong maxed out at 305 2 reps! I then blew out my shoulder tearing my muscles and have never had the desire since so I rarely will put anything over 275 on the bar.
I will generall workout at 225 now and nothing more. At my age I guess 2 plates is plenty!

I am deathly afraid of tearing something, then the surgery and the rehab, so generally I stick to less weight, more reps. I think the results are better as well, because you really focus on perfect form, not just getting more weight up.
