How far are you from your ideal?

Now, I know that most people really don’t enjoy talking about how overweight many of us are. But once you admit to yourself how much weight YOU should lose, you’ll have a good idea what kinds of goals are best for you.

How many pounds do you need to lose to be at your ideal weight? This is an anonymous poll, so don’t worry, no one will know who answers what! This will just give everyone a general idea where our fellow ASFNers are at in their health.

I'm at 205 right now, and I'd like to be around 185-190. But, I'd settle for 195.

The opening of this forum coincides with me joining 24 Hour Fitness. I used to belong to the Y when I worked downtown, but I stopped going when it wasn't right next door. So, I'm hoping that 24Hr is close enough that I won't put it off. We'll see.

Today the diet (not so much a diet as a "hey don't eat so much, fatass" plan) starts, I'm going on the wagon until football season and the aforementioned gym membership.

We'll see how long this "new me" lasts.

Yeah, my hubby and I did the "hey don't eat so much, fatass" plan for awhile too. We've moved on past that now, and we're trying to actually eat healthier, more balanced, meals. Phase 2!

If you can stick with it, religiously, for 3 weeks.......and don't allow yourself any excuses, you will begin to hate it if you miss just one day.

3 weeks, no excuses.

Pariah, I hear ya!!! I just joined a 24 hour World Gym......RIGHT AROUND THA CORNER FROM ME!!! I have no excuse. It's pretty cool to go into the gym at 1:30 am, and be able to use any equipment you want! I'm fired up to drop about 18-20lbs.

Yeah, that's how it was when I was going to the Y. I'm hoping I fall into the same routine at 24Hr.

Well, here's my story:

I am 5'6", medium bone structure, 28 years old, 195 lbs. (I shudder just typing that!!!!!) According to my dr, my ideal weight is around 150ish. I was thin and in pretty good shape when I got married 7 1/2 years ago and I weighed 145. I gained ten pounds shortly after we got married. After our first baby passed away, I gained 40 lbs in 10 months. I was depressed and turned to food for comfort. Two pregnancies later, I have remained the same weight. I can't seem to get it lower, but I'm not gaining either. I haven't gained in over 6 years. But I haven't lost any either. I am DONE having babies now, so I need to get my body back. I've settled for who I have become long enough. We recently moved the treadmill into the living room from the garage. I'm actually using it now! I know I have a long road ahead of me, but I'm ready to work at it. I just need motivation and people holding me accountable.

Me, I have always been to thin. Now in my 30's and the weight is building up to what I wanted it to be.

I sure could stand to reorganize that weight.

Exercize might be a good idea.

Yeah, you are quite thin. (Makes me sick! LOL!) I should have included an option in the poll "I need to GAIN weight". That would be the one for you!
