Hair Restoration Success Stories?
This used to be a very sensitive topic for me when I was in my later teens.... I began experiencing premature baldness right around 18....It was inevitable since my mom's father (where the recessive hair gene is from) was bald himself at 17....
Initially, it wasnt too noticable, however, as I approached my early 20s that I could no longer tolerate others thinking that I was already into my 30s (noticing the receding hair-line....the pattern baldness that was getting progressively worse)...... I was thinking of purchasing then some Rogaine or even have some hair restoriation surgery, but I realized that it wouldnt be too bad than to just shave it all off..... that thanks to the likes of Michael Jordan (and earlier "Kojack" himself.. may I have a lolipop?) I thought it was envogue..... Initially, my family/friend/co-workers were shocked the first time I scalped it all off... it was actually a spur of the moment situation.... I was at a local hair salon and I told the stylist that I wanted it as short as possible.... that suddenly became completely bald... I essentially wasted money onto something that I could have easily done at home.....
I didnt shave it completely off for at least another 2-yrs, but that changed... so from the ages of 22-29 I shaved it off on a regular basis.. Initially, I would have friends shave it for me using electric razors, but for final 4 years of electing to go "Que-Ball", I would use a straight razor onto my self... sometimes.. lord.... I scratched/gashes myself extensively that people thought I was inflicting self mutilation on myself......
Well... right around when I turned 30 this past December, I stopped shaving..... That caused my former supervisor at work (I since switched to another portfolio of accounts) who is rather beautiful herself took notice and just began discussing it nonstop on how striking I looked with even slight hair... others began taking notice as well.... It's extremely thick/wavey on certain areas, but in the upper part of my head.. that's where I have that huge bald spot..... So, on 1/9/07, I went to a nearby CVS and purchased a 3-month supply of Rogaines hair restoration foam...... It said it can take up to the 3-full months to realize it's benefit, but if no satisfactory results are achieved in 4-months, then to stop using the product all together.....
I wish I took a photo of the before since it's difficult to compare and contrast to see if its begun to make any difference...... They mentioned in the pamphlet that some peach fuzz will be apparent covering the region.. I noticed a miniscule amount of it..... I apply it on (2 half-capped size portion) in the bald area twice daily.....
I am just wondering if anyone who frequents this forum has used any hair restoration products (including the one I have opted) and wonder if the results were favorable? or.. if also you know of anyone else?
I honestly dont think it was heredity in my case despite having the odds stacked-up against me..... I believe it was caused of when I was in my pre to early teenage years, I would constantly due to a nervous habit of rubbing my head in one spot repeatedly..... I believed I killed some roots in the process since the thinning area is where I would resort to that.....
I look good with my head shaven, but it seems that others believe I would look even better with a full set of hair.... Being 30... I proclaimed it's about time I try to restore...especially when I finally plan on hitting the singles scene out here in Phoenix... I believe having a full set of hair is a must......
Oh.. by the way... I'm not Sy Sperling... I'm not a client of Hair Club for Men and certainly not the president.....

What about that stuff I've seen on TV that you only use once every 90 days? I may have been gipped in the DNA department in many areas but thankfully all my relatives have a full head of hair, including me.
p.s. you are a krazy mofo

No idea on the hair restoration stuff, but I wholeheartedly agree with this.

Yes.... I'm one Krazy Mofo fo certain.....Heck... I wish I was even a Mo"fro" at this time... anyways.....
I wonder if that product you saw on tv is OTC..or I would need a prescription.... I guess I'll have to research it.......
I'm fortunate that people in my family look young for our age, but having a bald spot unfortunately somewhat negates that for me... oh well....

it's one of those infomercial deals... I don't really know if any of stuff works.
A little trivia.... Rogain was originally created to treat high blood pressure, but it didn't work.... what it did do was thicken people's hair so they created the topical ointment. There are more than a few drugs that this has occured with. Where you have a positive side effect.... another example being Viagra, which was originally a heart medication. We all know the positive side effect it had

I've been experimenting with hair loss for the past couple of years. I like it, so I think I'll keep at it until it's gone.

I am going bald too, but I figured I would just get chemo and eliminate all hair folicles from my entire body.

Some guy told me I looked like a young Phil Collins a few months ago. Boy, did that ruin my day. Losing hair sucks.
