Glucosamine Chondroitin

Anybody know if there's any reason why taking this regularly can be bad?

I took it 5-6 years ago after my 2nd knee surgery and it really helped with joint pain in the knee. I recently was having some more pain having stepped up my running (treadmill) a bit. Plus the damn global cooling makes my knee hurt too. I've been taking 2 pills a day and it absolutely helps with pain and aching I'm just concerned there might long term effects I'm not aware of?

I used to take it also for joint aches. Then I injured my shoulder one day (shooting some hoops with hubby). I thougt it would go away but the pain just got worse.

Finally, about a year later, I had to have surgery on my shoulder for what my doc called "frozen shoulder." He said the fluid in there had hardened and it was like "saran wrap" around my shoulder. To this day I still believe it was the glucosamine and chondroitin I was taking.

BTW, I cut out all the sugar and refined carbs from my diet and no longer have the achy joints! Go figure.

if the supplement is affecting global cooling, by all means, keep it up.

Glucosamine chondritin will not cause an ossification of the ligaments.

Improper nutrient balance in the shoulder is the likely culprit, it adds up over time. The tendons/ligaments get less blood flow through them than muscles, so they need what nutrients they do get to be optimal.
