Body fat

Does anyone know what there body fat is? I recently had mine tested and I am at 12%. I have been working out regularly again since January(Nov & Dec took off) and probably knocked off about 3 to 5% percent body fat. My goal is to get to about 8-10% body fat.

I hate you. Not really. Kinda sorta.

I think it would be impossible for me to get to 12% let alone 8 or 10%.

Mine is 15%, age and your body frame have a lot to do with it..."actual levels of body fat is easily distorted by such factors as fitness level, muscle mass, bone structure, gender, and ethnicity"

Recommended amount for women is 20-21% and men 13-17%
Average adult in United States for women is 22- 25% and men 17-19%
You are considered obese if you are at 30%+ for a woman and 25% for a man.

I doubt I can get it much lower unless I just eat egg whites. My goal is to work on my stomach muscles, that is where I have the most fat. Plus, I will be going to the Jersey shore in June and want to look good,

Last time I calculated it, it was 13.4%

I am going to start working out to get that below 10.

I am already really skinny, it makes it hard.

I know that I could get under 10% with more exercise. I just have to motivate myself somehow.

Yeah, and I probably could, too, with the same obstacle you have. What's your point???

okay, 10% is a pipe dream for me, but who cares?

What she said. I'd be lucky to get it under 25%

They sell scales that measure your % electronically. I’m not sure how accurate they are though. I have one and my % tends to vary by a few points depending on the time of day and how much I’ve recently eaten/drank.

you can try this one:

http://walking.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=walking&zu=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.linear-software.com%2Fonline.html

I used the tape measurement method so don't know how accurate that is.
