X Games IX

Anyone watching?

Awesome tricks and wipeouts as usual.

Metzger got hurt a couple of weeks ago (concussion and wrist injury) doing one of the sickest tricks out there, the motocross backflip with a heel-click. Someone did it yesterday. Deegan did a sick 360, which Pastrana later tried and wiped out...but got back on and landed a perfect one, after time had expired - he did it for the fans.

Nyquist tore it up on the bike dirt freestyle.

Glad to see the X Games getting bigger and bigger.

Now the Olympics even want to add some of the X sports.

As Tony Hawk said "The Olympics need the X Games more than the X Games need the Olympics."

Not I.

I am a wimp and can't stand watching them fall off their bikes and twist ankles and cracked skulls and... I don't know why I watch football either.. but anyway.

I decided not to watch them after the commercials I saw ended with "X games 9, it's off the hizzle fishizzle dizzle"

I watched the replay last night! Totally sick! Pastrana is fun to watch. I went to the FMX event here Aug 2nd. Nate Adams won, he was the only one to do a back flip...eveidentally they had made a pact not to do the backflip and he broke it....I told the guy next to me "if I bought this ticket came down here and didn't get to see a backflip I would have been PISSED!" It was a great time!

I used to ride my bmx all the time but I haven't in the last few years and now I'm fat. I really need to start riding again. I would wath the X Games but I don't have cable. Can someone let me know if Dave Voelker is riding this year and if he is how he's doing?

Check your local listings...much of it has been shown on ABC (Channel 15 here).

I watch it every night, I love it, and I'm not exactly in the age-demo that it's targeted for, thats for sure. But, hey, it is entertaining, and thats the bottom line. I think those guys deserve a lot more respect as athletes than say golfers.

I look forward to watching every night.

Deegan pulled off a back flip varial. Not sure what he's going to name since he invented it.

The back flip heel clicker is called the McNasty, and was coined ny Metz.

I agree.

But in football you really don't see the guys get injured. Something happens, and then they are on the ground.
