Ronaldo to MLS?
This is from SI.Coms "Truth & Rumors"...
The rumors about Red Bull New York just won't die. Days after Juventus manager Fabio Capello was linked with the club, chatter out of the New York camp indicates Ronaldo to Red Bull is a go. -- Goal.com
Ronaldo could be a New York Red Bull sooner than reported. The Brazilian National Team star and Real Madrid striker is close to finalizing a deal to play for the Red Bulls after the World Cup, according to sources close to the MLS club and throughout the league. According to two league-wide sources, "it is a done deal," although that could not be confirmed from the Red Bulls. -- BigAppleSoccer.com
He'd be by far the biggest signing in the history of the league, he won't be 30 yrs old until later this year and has plenty of good soccer left in him. I am curious though as to what price they will pay for him as the players in MLS make very little compared to other leagues in the world.
I wonder if signings like this will give the league legitimacy, I know Beckham talks of ending his career in MLS, I wonder how many others will consider it.

Wow. It would be huge. They'll still need to do far more to get me to watch the games, but it would be a great step for the league.

I watch games occasionally but I don't have a favorite team. I watch for individual players mostly...if Ronaldo comes to MLS I will watch when he plays any chance I get.

Latest rumor....
Real Madrid striker Ronaldo has confirmed he received an offer form American club Red Bull New York worth £60 million. Ronaldo's agent, Faiano Farah, revealed the 10-year offer over the weekend, which was rejected. -- footballissue.com
60 million Euros = over $77 million US

Backham will be in MLS for the 2007 or 2008 season, you can bet on it. He already has a soccer academy in the US and expressed his interest in MLS.
