ANybody else see joe Ingles for australia? Kid came in late in the game and went nuts, 10 points really quick, steals, deflections, he was good enough that within minutes he had 3 US players woofing at him because he scored on them.
I googled him he's 20, was the rookie of the year in the NBDL in 2008 and is considered one of the top young players in Australia with the kid Newley. He's listed between 6'6" and 6'8" and plays 3 positions, SF, SG and some PG. Looks to me like a definitely NBA prospect, lefty, can shoot the 3, handle the ball, athletic enough and he's as competitive a kid as I've seen in awhile.
I have to admit I googled him hoping he wasn't playing pro ball and might be the Aussie kid that I keep hearing UCLA is watching (-:

While that by itself is dumb journalism, even more dumb journalism was the original version of the bolded copy that was changed after she received a crapstorm of emails from Laker fans:

I was trying to say he was to blame for not going. I obviously screwed up. I apologize. But if I am correct, his legal troubles cleared up in the spring, right? It was a knee or so he said that prevented him from going. Either way, most people not wearing Kobe glasses blamed him for not being there. He is the best American player.
As for my agenda, the rest of the article is about how much his image has changed and deservedly so. You are right. I am so biased against him, writing that he is one of the stars of the Olympics.
And kudos to you. Yours is by far one of the dumbest emails I have ever received for obviously not reading the column. [Donald comment: this made me actually laugh out loud. Really, she had the gall to say that after her blatant screw up, and subsequent ignorance of a "correction" to restate her "original" point that would have been also incorrect...]

Funny how you bring up his knee and Colorado now but convieniently left that out of your article. The rape trial was dismissed in September 2004. Kobe was in and out of court that summer so how exactly is it that it had cleared up by the Olympics? If you are too lazy or incompenent to look it up - Google is your friend. I can only imagine what your third edit would say. Your opinions are your opinions but at least get your facts straight. Kobe glasses or not, your article is and was full of inaccurate information. LMAO. Wonder what you did to get this job. As a matter of fact, I wonder what your editor did to get his job.

Unbelievable game...amazing, tight all the way through. HUGE from Wade in the first with Kobe and LeBron in foul trouble, and Kobe, being KOBE, takes over the fourth quarter. He had a ton of assists, monster shots and great defense. Spain put up an incredible fight, and they have some insanely good players. Pau gets silver, so for me as a Laker fan I'm all around happy. Rudy is a great player..wow...will be nice to see him in the NBA.
I haven't enjoyed an olympics so much in ages...from the "Cream/Supreme/Redeem Team" to Phelps just destroying the water like a hurricane with 8 golds, most golds ever in an olympics and ever, and 7 of the 8 WR, to Bolt making fast running look like child's play with three WR in three runs, to the absolute grace of the rythmic gymnastics winner, to Shawn Johnson golding on the beam, to Nastia getting the all around women's gymnast, to the beach volleyball power play in mens and womens, to the soccer women, to the aussie guy winning gold over the Chinese with an incredible dive on platform, to the relays, to Fine Young Cannibal winning the decathalon, to finding a new love for BMX supercross....and not to mention the amazing, unreal and beautiful opening ceremonies, this has been one hell of a great Olympics. In HD even...for God's sake!!!
We win total medal count too!!
