Why are these races live for damn near everyone else in the country but the west coast? No offense to mens gymnastics, but I would much rather watch Phelps pursuit of history than chinese men doing gymnastics.

Great relay finish I agree.

My one whine is the new speedo suits are making a mockery of the world records. US with backup swimmers sets a world record in qualifying and then the top FIVE teams in the finals all break that world record. I guess it's progress and everyone is wearing the suits but they might as well wipe out all the old records since those people didn't have access to the suit.

Phelps is ridiculous they were comparing him to Tiger Woods or Jordan in terms of utter domination of a sport, can't say I disagree, he doesn't have their marketability, but he's amazing.

Swimsuits made out of the wonder material Lycra caused the same contraversy over 30 years ago.

Maybe the Greeks had it right in making the athletes perform naked. This way toga manufactures could not give an advantage.

What a race! I can't believe that he was able to catch that French guy. Truely an amazing effort!

I just watched the relay. OMFG...that was frigging unbelievable. That was seriously one of the most amazing relays of any type I've ever seen. It ices the cake that the Frenchies were talking smack.

You can't help but be ecstatic for Phelps...he's set to become the most golden olympian of all time. Getting the IM and the 4x100 out of the way first is perfect for him...

And one last part on that relay...Phelps didn't get off to a good start, either.

U.S. freaking killed in the pool today - 7 medals, 3 golds, 3 world records.

Phelps won third gold, tying the record for most gold EVER.
