could of played a better first half - but any win over mexico is a good win - keep letting them know they cannot win in the US and typical mexican post game response - stay classy boys........................................
WHEEEEEEW!!!!! Talk about walking away lucky-and-a-half!!!
Well, this much I know...Bradley pumped these guys up at halftime and they came out swinging. They really needed it, too, because we have a bunch of guys that can't finish and a pourous defense. I mean, our defense almost single-handedly cost us the match. If Mexico had any kind of real attack, we would have been done for. Of course, our attack, though potent in the 2nd half, CANNOT FINISH THE JOB!!! Dempsey? If you ever, EVER pull that pansy kind of shot again, I don't want you to sniff the field again. Ching I can forgive, somewhat, because it was an incredible individual effort and he was falling away. Beasley? No excuse. None. That's the kind of choke effort that makes me want to choke the player.
Argh. If Mexico hadn't been obviously worse than us, we would have lost. I give credit to Bradley for putting our guys back on track and getting some offensive focus. I credit some individual efforts that clearly won this game. I'm still not happy with our national team at this juncture. Let's pray the other kids show something at the Copa America. I mean, I'm not crazy enough to expect us to advance, but a good showing would be nice.

We played like garbage in the first half but had the best opportunities in the second half.
To be honest though Mexico could have outplayed us end to end and outshout us 400 - 2, as long as we beat those SOBs I don't care.

That Feilhaber strike...WOW!!! That's the kind of outside striking abilities we need. When you can bring that from the midfield, your team becomes exponentially more dangerous. This kid looks pretty good. He still plays too loose, but he's dangerous on the strike (could have had 2 today) and IIRC, he is good on set pieces too (was that him or Bornstein against China?).
And we beat Mexico. As bad as we looked, that is THE most important thing. Woo-hoo!!!

I was screaming at the TV to have Dempsey taken out, he just didn't seem to play with any kinds of confidence, we didn't see that swagger he displayed when he first played for the nats.
Beasley choked, made me wish Donovan would have just buried it.
Great win, I thought we were better than most here offensively. Howard, Bocanegra and Feilhalber were the MVP's of the game. I only wish we could see what this group would do in the Copa America. What a dumb move.

I know he didn't score on the set piece, but I believe he served on the score. That's what I meant. A midfielder who can strike like that and serve well on set pieces is invaluable.

NEW YORK (AP) -- The CONCACAF Gold Cup final attracted 41 percent more television households in the United States than the Stanley Cup finals clincher -- and that was just for the soccer game's Spanish-language telecast.
The United States' 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Mexico on Sunday received a 2.5 fast national rating on Univision, the network said Tuesday. That translates to 2.83 million households, nearly double the 1.48 million homes that watched the 2005 Gold Cup final between the United States and Panama.
This year's English-language telecast was on the Fox Soccer Channel, which is available in about 30 million homes and is not rated.
Anaheim's series-ending 6-2 victory over Ottawa in the Stanley Cup on June 6 received a 1.8 rating on NBC, which comes to 2,005,000 households.
The rating is the percentage watching a telecast among all homes with televisions, and a ratings point represents 1,114,000 households.
