Todays lineup...
Kasey Keller in goal.

The backline is Frank Simek, Jay DeMerit, Michael Parkhurst and Jonathan Spector.

Benny Feilhaber and Ricardo Clark, side-by-side in the midfield, with Steve Ralston on the right flank and Justin Mapp on the left.

Brian Ching and Eddie Johnson up front.

I understand its a quick turnaround from the last game and I understand its a weak T&T side but I wouldn't take Bocanegra, Donovan and Dempsey out of the lineup.

Bradley at least is willing to give more and more guys chances--Parkhurst gets his first cap today.

I'll be watching on telefutura (better than nothing I guess). I'm most interested in seeing Simek, Spector, and Johnson today. Only a complete disaster prevents a US win here today.

It should have been better than 2-0. A little disorganized at times and the US still needs to work on its finishing but 3 points is 3 points.

Justin Mapp was impressive, as was Frank Simek..I wasn't as impressed with Parkhurst.

There should be no problems versus El Salvador. I wonder what lineup Bradley will bring out for that one, at some point you have to look more at on field chemistry and less at resting players though--especially with the knockout stages about to start.

If that assistant ref hadn't botched half a dozen offsides calls the game probably wouldn't have been 2-0. I really liked Justin Mapp in this game again, his speed is just devastating. What an awesome play by Mapp on the Ching goal. Simek played a ton better than when I saw him in the Guatemala friendly, he was one of the best players on the field today. I wasn't particularly thrilled with any of the other defenders today but no huge mistakes. Clark played better than I had anticipated, but Ralston didn't look so great. Donovan had that wicked run to set up the Johnson goal which is always fantastic to see. You can't draw too many conclusions since the US was playing Trinidad and Tobago's B team (not that the US played anything close to their strongest roster, either), but not a bad effort. El Salvador on Tuesday (I believe) should be a good one to watch.

To show that anything can happen, Canada that beat Costa Rica in their first game lost to tiny Guadeloupe in its second game. Guadeloupe doesn't even get recognized as an official nation team by FIFA. Its actually a French province (like St Martin) -- sort of the equivelant of Hawaii or Alaska for us. Its not even a territory (like Puerto Rico) but more like a state...weird actually.

Guadeloupe surprised me at how good they were. Beating Canada doesnt shock me.
We looked pretty bad against them. We looked much better against a much weaker T&T.

I got FSC so I could watch the Gold cup and hopefully Copa America!

We've never played Guadeloupe, at least not in recent years.

Mexico LOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its almost as good as a US win. Congratulations to Honduras. Mexico looked poor against Cuba and followed it up with a loss, how perfect is that?

And the cherry on top...Blanco was given a straight RED.

So that will be a one game suspension for Blanco, I take it?

I think a straight red is a minimum 2 game suspension but can be more depending on the severity.

Hopefully he's out when we have to play him. Heh, if the Mexicans even make it to us, at this rate.

If Mexico finishes third in their group we will play them in the next round as winners of our group. That would be something a meeting with them earlier than anyone really would have anticipated.

Currently Mexico sits at 3rd behind Panama and Honduras and plays Panama in the final game while Honduras plays Cuba.

Copa unfortuantely won't be on FSC...its on the Spanish channels though, Telefutura and Univision (maybe Galavision too), sucks for me because I don't get any of those channels.
