Adu apparently headed to Benfica (Portugal)

Looks like the long rumored move of Adu off to Europe may finally come. Hopefully playing for a European league will help Adu progress, and his good effort in the U20 World Cup was a promising step.

Plus he'll have the opportunity to play in the Champions League. I'd say it's a bit different than playing in Salt Lake.

Well Salt Lake just traded for him...do they get something in retuurn at all or do they just give away the player like the minor leagues?

Its kind of a complicated deal, but they get about $2M for him.

The fee agreed to between RSL and Benfica for Adu is $2 million (€1.46 million).
