Geez - can we get a little consistency from this team? Is that too much to ask?
The playcalling again was absolutely horrible (edit: it was good in the first half). They came out of the half and I couldn't believe how they were playing to protect the lead instead of putting da Bears out of the game. Holmgren never would have rested on his lead like that.
Is it time for an Offensive Coordinator change in Green Bay? I think so. I also think that Sherman needs to be stipped of his GM, etc. titles and just let him be the head coach. He's got too much on his plate imo.
Something needs to be done there and hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.
Bring Ron Wolfe back - please!!!

I was surprised at how passive the Packers started the second half. I thought the Bears really made it interesting at 24-16 and I thought momentum had really shifted...until the Bears D laid down and let the Packers march the field with ease.
Last night was what I expected when the Packers were here in AZ. Maybe the Packers really did psyche themselves out with the heat. I can't imagine they were looking past the Cards to the Bears game.

Yep - that's what ticked me off at the beginning of the second half. Why the heck do you let a team gain confidence and close the gap when you've been killing them with blitzes all night long. And that conservative offense they switched in to on their first possession - ugh, I was so mad. It took the Bears scoring 10 unanswered points before the coaching staff woke up. The crowd was getting back into it and the momentum was starting to shift. It could have been disasterous.

Yeah - but I'm not using heat as an excuse, and I don't think the team was either. Their defense looked a little winded last night at the tail end of the 3rd quarter. I'm wondering if Sherman's "soft" practice approach isn't hurting his teams conditioning. He needs them in pads during practice and let them get after it - I don't need to see Al Harris breathing heavy in the 3rd Quarter - that's inexcusable.

I think the Cards were able to shut down Ahman Green, thus derailing their offense. It seems like when Green can run over the opponents the offense is unstoppable.
Doesn't help that the Bears players looked clueless last night. How do you not cover Bubba Franks in the red zone!?! When Madden resorts to tic-tac-toe because the game's a blowout you know it's gonna be a long night.

Very true. He is such a huge part of their offense - but isn't that true with any team?

In my opinion the Packers took the Cardinals lightly, and the Cardinals came out against the Packers with a chip on their shoulder and played with determination and intensity. This week the Packers came out with an attitude against the Bears after being mad that they lost against the Cardinals, and the Cardinals didn’t look like they played with the same intensity to start the game against the Rams.
I’m always amazed why teams can’t play with the same high intensity every week. I’m always excited every week to watch the games. Why can’t they be excited every week to play? Even when the Packers went to the Super Bowl in 1997, they took an 0-10 Colts team lightly, as the Colts were the worst team in the league that year and the Pack lost to the Colts. That was the year before the Colts drafted Peyton Manning with the top pick. Playing the Packers that year during the regular season was the Colts Super Bowl even though they were 0-10 at the time and they got jacked up to play that game. Even this year Houston came out and shocked Miami the opening week. Teams are closer than ever talent wise. You have to play hard every week no matter who the opponent is.
I agree with Shawn that the Packers can’t blame the heat in the loss to the Cardinals. The Cardinals just wanted it more than the Pack in my opinion and it showed. I’m not sure what to expect from either team the rest of the season. I predicted 10-6 for the Pack before the season. They could still do it, but they have a tough stretch ahead. Seattle had 2 weeks to rest with the bye, and the Packer have to play them on a short week with the Monday night game.
Before the season started I said I was a little worried about the Vikings because they made some decent offseason moves. So far they've been on a roll like I feared. I hope we can catch them, but it's going to be tough.
