Why Does The WNBA Fail?

Im sitting here watching womens college basketball. All i can do is look at how these women walk and tlk like men. So I started thinking why does the WBNA suck. Well, first off if you wanna see fundamental basketball, watch the WBNA. That said, this is so damn boring. No dunks. Even when these women try to do their best Michael Jordan impression, you can still see the girly moves in them.

Oh then the marketing. The WBNA went to try to use sex appeal. Are men atrracted to these women? I know Im not. Its very unappealing to me. Im turned off. So that didnt work.

Basically, sports is mainly a man thing.

Soccer, figure skating and the WBNA sucks.

lol

sorry

They are not all ugly, there was a player on the Mercury last name Harrison i think that almost posed for Playboy, she was hot. Each team has 2 or 3 hotties, but it should be about basketball not looks. I will addmit even though I should not because of how poeple on this board are, I want to go to a Mercury game to see Diana Turasi, from what I have seen in highlights he is pretty good and does some nice moves. That came from Gambos mouth himself. he took his family jsut so he could see her and he always rips the WNBA, so she might be worth watching.

Hah I know...

I can understand why some don't like the WNBA - personally I think it' great basketball. No one's trying to dunk all the time, it's about pure shooting. But to say that sports are mainly a "man" thing, I think is a bit sexist. It's obvious that this is a personal topic because I've played sports all my life, so I'll try to be as objective as possible. I think figure skating and soccer suck, too, but I'm not about to say women can only do this and men can only do this. There have been various women throughout the years who've demonstrated great athletic ability and have rightly deserved to be in their sport.

But now that I'm thinking about it more, I do agree that it's predominantly MALES who do sports - but more and more, girls are getting into sports. I think it's a great thing - When my mom was a kid, there were no leagues she could play in - I can only imagine what that was like. I joined a boys tball team when I was 5 and the rest is history.

But anyway, I just got pissed because I interpreted your comment as saying only males should play sports... but maybe you were just saying that it's males who in fact play sports, like sports, are surrounded by sports - and so that I can agree with.

If that is true why is womens tennis and soccer more popular then mens tennis and soccer. I bet Venus and Serina could beat most of the men on the tour and I bet our womens US soccer team to compete with our mens. There are 4 sports that are main stream, golf, soccer, tennis, and basketball. 2 of them are more popular then the mens, those are good numbers, plus the NBA was not a over night success. The year beofre Michael entered the leauge they have no TV deal and were losing so much money, but 1 man turned that around, so do not write off the WNBA. The Conneticut team sells out every game, those are steps in the right direction. I think not being affiliated with the NBA will help in the long run, because i thing the NBA could only hold them back and not allow them to go to markets that that does not have NBA teams, but does want some sort of basketball, or is popular with womans NCAA. I bet a team will relocate to Tennasee soon neas were teh Lady VOLS play(I think that is what they are called).
