Oh please.. Kobe taking responsiblity for lnot winning gold is lame.. Jerry Colangelo is the reason they are about to get the gold back.. He saw why we were losing.. It was because we didnt practice enough and have commitments from players.. We were a rag tag bunch before he organized it to it is today.. Cant believe Kobe is taking credit for this.. I would say what Kobe said makes me think lower of him, but he's about as low as I can put a person at this point so its par for the course for him..

What are you talking about??
That is a reporter, reporting incorrect things. Kobe didn't say anything of the sort.
It's kind of the entire point of posting it, Gee. The reporter first said Kobe was in Athens and ballhogged, thus we lost. When people emailed her and said "WTF, he wasn't even there" she EDITED her story to say that a big chunk of why they lost was Kobe chose not to play (also untrue, he was prepping for trial).
The reporter is a ninny...

To be perfectly honest.. I dont read half the posts in this thread after the laker love fest this summer.. All I read was this.. Which lead to my reply..

Nobody moreso than Kobe. He took a big hunk of the blame for the 2004 failure, mainly because he chose not to play. It was viewed as the ultimate selfish act.

I see. Condensed version. She first wrote this:
Quote:
Nobody more so than Kobe. He took a big hunk of the blame for the 2004 failure, mainly because he was one of the main culprits in trying to win games by himself. We expected him to be better.
This is why he wanted another shot at Argentina.
|
He wasn't there, didn't play, so couldn't have tried to win games himself.
So she then edited it to this:
Quote:
Nobody moreso than Kobe. He took a big hunk of the blame for the 2004 failure, mainly because he chose not to play. It was viewed as the ultimate selfish act.
This is why he wanted another shot at Argentina.
|
Which is also untrue, because he wasn't allowed to play, being in a trial and everything and didn't ever take any blame for the Olympics.
She then had the audacity to argue that she wasn't making those mistakes to people who emailed her, going so far to call them the dumb ones.
That's the cliff notes version.

Then maybe you should STFU and keep your pointless opinions to yourself.
Donald is right, that reporter is obviously biased and has a clear Anti-Kobe agenda. Very irresponsible for a journalist. I would expect such a thing from someone like Gee who's opinion no one cares about anyway.

(towards the end). Plus, Dawes is hot.

The loss of Turiaf is going to hurt big time. Especially considering Bynum and Gasol aren't durable enough to stay healthy a full season.

I wouldn't say big time. They replaced him with Josh Powell...same guy basically, just less hyper. Also, Mihm is serviceable.
Turiaf will be missed, but mostly for his team building presence and less of his production on the floor.

Josh Powell does not replace Turiaf, not even close.

Not even close? Ronny scores a point more per game, Powell gets 2 boards more a game. Same shooting and ft percentage, ronny a tiny bit better in assists and blocks.
That's about it. Pretty damn close.

Andrew Bynum told people in a press conference his gamertag and challenged everyone to Halo 3. People talking about it and playing with him...

Gotta love that kid.
