Lions win Home Opener vs. the hapless Cards.
Just a reminder what the headlines will be in Detroit after the season opener. Detroit scores, lets say oh 35 points and then just cruises in the 4th quarter. The Cards well they may get a lucky break and get, ahhh say 10 points. Ok, there you have it 35 to 10 to give MOOCH his first victory as the Lions head coach. Chuck Rogers starts his trek to rookie of the year by getting 150 yards on 8 catches and a pair of scores and Joey throws for 350 yards before giving it up to McMahon who throws for another 100 yards and runs for a score. The best part of it all is I will be there to watch, got my tickets in the mail yesterday. I always wanted to see a washed up has been like Emmit Smith hobble his way into the record book by garnering 22 yards a game for the lowly Cards. See Ya.

Hey Arvos,
Packer fan here. Looking forward to seeing your Lions at Lambeau Field the week after you play the Cardinals. I still laugh at Matt Millen for all the money he gave ex-Packer wide receiver Bill Schroeder last year. I guess that explains why he had to use a high draft pick on a wide receiver in Charles Rogers this year. Schroeder had good stats in Green Bay, but it's too bad Millen didn't realize that his stats were padded because of a future Hall Of Famer throwing the passes. See ya September 14th.

I'll give you some credit for having over inflated balls Arvos! A 2-14 team calling us happless!? LMAO!!!
Reality check,
Cards 24
Lions 10
You can then take comfort in once again being beaten by what you would LIKE to consider the worst team in the NFL. You and the Cowboys can then decide who picks first next year.

Detroit Smack City
Pretty brave words from a fan whose team is 2-6 against the "lowly Cards" since we've been in Arizona.
The Lions are 1-3 when they play us here at SDS, and 1-3 when they play us in Detroit.
It's been nearly ten years since you've beaten us, and you've never beaten the Arizona Cardinals outside of the 1993 season.
Here are the numbers:
9/10/89 (In Detroit) Cards 16 - Lions 13 W
9/26/93 (In Detroit) Cards 20 - Lions 26 L
12/12/93 (In Arizona) Cards 14 - Lions 21 L
9/17/95 (In Detroit) Cards 20 - Lions 17 W
11/1/98 (In Detroit) Cards 17 - Lions 15 W
11/14/99 (In Arizona) Cards 23 - Lions 19 W
11/18/99 (In Arizona) Cards 45 - Lions 38 W
12/8/02 (In Arizona) Cards 23 - Lions 20 W (OT)
I'd say something more along the line of Cards 23 - Lions 16.

This is the season in a while that Cards will be starting 1-0. Detroit has been pathetic and little have they done to improve in the free agency. They have a bunch of rookies and inexperienced players. Look for a long season.

All except the Nittany Lions fans!
By the way, what do you expect from JoePa's boys this year?

Look for me in the red Boldin jersey somewhere amongst the long faces in tattered Sanders jerseys.
With the passing game still not quite fine tuned, Arizona resorts to cramming the ball down the uninspired Lions rush D. Emmitt sits on the bench after gaining 100 yrds on the ground. Marcel makes Lions LBs wish he hadn't.
On the Lions O, Joey Harrington looks over his shoulder everytime Calvin Pace enters the game. Cards D-Line has a field day with the Lions O-Line. Charles Rodgers is inconsistent after Adrian Wilson suplexes him.
AZ - 28

His (Arvos) claim is stupid and absurd, that I have to admit that I'm dumbfounded (you know found by his dumbness ).
Arvos buddy...The Lions are the one team that we perpetually beat. Coming here to talk **** isn't wise, since your team has a pitiful record against us over the last decade.

While I think the Cards will win, one other statistic that bodes poorly for the Cards is they are 3-12 in season opening games...of which I believe every one has been on the road. So while the record against DET has been good, their road openers balance that out a bit.

As a Lion's fan, you brought back horrible flashbacks to me.... There I was, sitting in Section 29, Row 14, Seat 10 (just behind the Lion's sideline) and once Grammatica's game winning FG went thru the goalpost, it felt like a dagger had been pierced through my heart.... I was shell-shocked and went on a frenzy of words I can't use on here.....
This was my first time at Sun Devil Stadium and I was quite impressed by the atmosphere.... In case you don't remember, that was the week the Detroit Red Wings came to Phoenix and Arizona's press was criticizing transplants who still rooted for the team they've been loyal to opposed to adopting AZ professional teams... Also, the media was urging those to boycott the Cardinals (IE Bidwill), but I'm glad it seemed that most didn't do so....
I would be lying if I said that I wanted the Cardinals to win on 9/7, however, I'm certain that many transplants on here like me can identify with that conflict themselves.....
