If it was just mentioning her and not that she was
the wife of Avery Johnson, it might make sense, but when referencing a woman like the article did it would be Mrs. and not Ms.
Note that the original article posted did not call her Ms. - two posters did.
The only articles I found discussing the incident used the title of Mrs. Johnson.
