Hey, these guys weren't bright enough to figure out that we already knew who Roy Williams was.

Just curious as to his other teams. Sort of in the same boat I am. Why did he choose to continue supporting the Cowboys but jump from the Mavericks to the Suns, if he ever was a Mavs fan?
I am a Lakers fan, always will be. They were the first team I ever followed, growing up in Van Nuys/Reseda, CA. When I moved to Arizona, I was a Lakers/Dodgers/Rams fan. I was never interested in hockey, so I wasn't a Kings fan at all.
When I came here there was only one team in town, the Suns. Being more into the NBA than I really was into MLB or the NFL at that time, I chose to remain a Lakers fan rather than make the switch to the Suns (BTW: My entire family on both sides are all lifelong Suns fans). Part of the reason I likely remained a Lakers fan was because all of my family, and heck, practically people off the street, constantly saying stuff like "Of course, now that you live here, you'll be a Suns fan, right?"
I have zero problem with anyone keeping their loyalty to a non-local team, as long as they don't come at me with the split-loyalty crap. Choose one team per sport and support it 100%.
So I was able to go on for a long time as a Lakers/Dodgers/Rams fan living in AZ. Besides going to NBA games at the Coliseum (especially the Lakers games)...ASU basketball and football, as well as the Phoenix Giants/Firebirds, was about all there was to follow.
When we got the NFL, I became a diehard Cards fan, and have only missed two home games. I even saw the Green Bay/Denver preseason game played at SDS just before the Cards came here. I've been a Cards fan from the groung up in AZ. I think that's why a lot of the diehards are so passionate. We've been along for the entire AZ ride.
That's also the same emotion involved in becoming a Coyotes fan and then a D-backs fan. Being able to jump in feet first when the team officially "begins in AZ."
I still have great collectibles and memories from when I supported the Dodgers and Rams, but they are no longer my teams.
Sorry so long, just felt like responding.
Still curious as to Charles' story. Not coming down on him, or anyone, just curious.

To be perfectly honest, I really don’t feel the need to defend my choice of teams. But since it is of such great interest to you guys, I’ll be happy to comply.
When I moved to Phoenix, the only teams in town were the Suns, the Inferno, the Roadrunners and that was it. I was a fan of all of them. There was no NFL team to root for, I spent the first 12 or so years of my life rooting for the Cowboys and sure as hell wasn’t going to root for an NFC East rival just because they moved to Tempe.
I have pretty deep roots in Dallas and go back there every chance I get, and yes I do follow the Mavs and the Rangers to an extent…they just aren’t my favorite teams.
No but I sure wish I was. I go there a lot though. My Aunt lives there and everyone in my family hates the Cowboys except me. But Im the biggest fan ever.
