I think people need to lighten up and not take P&R discussions so seriously in the first place. It's a freaking message board and nobody is going to change the world here.
Both going pit bull on another poster or taking personal affront to any challenge of an opinion are serious problems with the P&R board that keep me out of it for the most part. I am interested in the topics, but the overly important tone of the entire joint is a turnoff. There's no real way to set up rules that would force people to relax and not take everything so seriously, but if there was that would be my vote.
If everyone were either less uptight or attacking, this thread wouldn't even be needed. There's probably one person on this entire board (all of ASFN) that I genuinely disliked, and she was dealt with...but even then I did my best to laugh, not get all bent out of shape when she ranted and raved.
Okay.

I'm probably one of the worse offenders of the thread hijacking. Frankly it is do to particular banter between two posters (or more). In some ways I'm trying to say lighten up people but it is probably taken the wrong way and none of my business what two (or more) people are discussing any ways.
What cracks me up the most is the posters for the most part agree about the topic but they get bent out of shape at how they agree on said topic. Kinda wack if you ask me. If after two or three rounds of not understanding the other poster/poster's ask some questions about how he/she came to the conclusion. If you disagree you disagree, no big deal.
Also the little passive aggressive jabs are worse to me then just flat out calling me a jackass IMO. We all have different experiences that made us who we are and we certainly are not goin to agree on most topics.
Okay, I think I repeated myself a couple times there.
Next post will be off topic!!!! HA....

This has always been a relatively rowdy place and this election cycle has brought out... well... shall I say "not the best in some of us?" (yes I know... I ain't go not halo...).
Since the "great smiley debacle," I think all the mods have been pretty fair and equitable, and in a rare moment of disagreement with my brother from Florida, I say at least 2 Brownie points to the mods. You get one point for erring on the side of "allowance" and one point for being public with actions by mods (a poster's error is public, the correction should be public).
Thanks and props to Jug, CSanders, and krep. Keep up the good work, and ban anyone I tell you to....
