Regardless of what you think about the NRA, they had nothing to do with this. Nothing. Zero.
The NRA doesn't think the government should stand in the way of its citizens owning guns. They put the responsibility of gun ownership on the citizens, and that's where it is in this case.
What!?! Be responsible for your own actions?!?!
Surely you jest!!!
The way things are going 'responsible for your own actions' is no longer the American way...

I am not really up of the facts of this, but I think it will be interesting to see what additional steps, if any, gun shows take now to keep this from happening.
Sure... the father had no hand in "creating the conditions" did he?
He definitely had a hand in it, as did the instructor as did the people in charge of the show. The father put the gun in the kid's hand, the instructor allowed the father to do this, the gun show people provided a place for this to occur, and the NRA promotes an agenda to allow the specific gun to be accessed.
Are you as outraged as I am that "people" in this thread are more angry with the NRA than they are with the father who somehow thought it might be cool to let his 8 year old shoot an Uzi??
No but your reaction doesn't surprise me.
Of course we are outraged at the father, but then you feel its easy to make partisan points. Yes we are outraged at the father duh.
I'm not outraged at the NRA just pointing out that they are in the business of preventing and and all regulations related to gun ownership and use. Don't you think a little legislation might help like oh say 'Its illegal to allow an 8yr old to use a firearm", we do that for cars why not guns ?

We need a law to prevent a father from allowing his 8 year old to shoot an Uzi??? Holy crap...
How 'bout we create a law that mandates "Father Testing", before a dude can have a son...
If step 1 never happened, the subsequent steps would not be an issue...
True, but that could be said about any of the instances. You ordering them and placing priority 100% on one is an arbitrary opinion that's highly argumentative.
