Winning the hearts and minds?

WTF?!?!? Those soldiers need to be court martialed and sent to Leavenworth. That is despicable and degrading....

Send em to jail for teasing a kid. Great idea DEI. Your tolerance level just hit a new low.

You think that type of conduct is becoming of military personnel? Taunting impoverished children is OK by you?

Busted in rank and dishonrably discharged, this is a dishonrable act, have more pride than that 40.
I don't think they should be jailed for it but it's a good reason to make an example of someone.
I despise jerks who think that crap is funny.
I know this 40, if you caught someone doing that to your child what would you feel like doing to them?
Perhaps that's the best punishment, 30 minutes tied to a chair in a dark room with the kids father, that is if he's still alive or he isn't busy in a death squad.

Busted in rank and dishonorably discharged?
Never gonna happen, nor should it.
I don't approve of their actions nor do I support them. It was conduct unbecoming.
DEI, you kill me. Have you ever been in the military? Have you ever been deployed? Have you ever been in combat? Iraq?
What you saw in that video is something that occurs all day, every day over there ( I am referring to the kids begging for stuff from the soldiers, not the teasing of them). All day, every day.
Didn't any of you ask yourselves "Why aren't these kids in school?"
"Where are the parents?"
The answer is that the kids don't go to school (well, alot of them) and they wander the streets like animals CONSTANTLY harrassing soldiers.
The soldiers should not have done it, I will not defend them, BUT it was harmless. They didn't hurt him, they just acted like punks and made the kid run for something they didn't owe him.
Stuff like that does put all soldiers in a bad light, but to end someone's career over it, affect the financial income of his family back home and put his wife and children in financial hardship and destroy his ability to secure a future job all because of a prank is ridiculous.
Try for once to start a thread about the good the soldiers are doing and their selfless heroism.
I won't hold my breath.

Why we will never win. I actually related to the article that 82 posted about shooting insurgents on site, even after they surrendered.

Yeah end their freaking career over it, starve their family so their little kids can beg food and see how it feels.
This is THE problem, they are Iraqi street urchins so who cares, well if it was your child and they were thirsty cause dad had no job because the only jobs got you killed in bundles, then your kid might be freaking thirsty too.
We go over there blow up there infrastructure, fail to secure the peace and then taunt their poor kids?
This kid chasing the truck, maybe next week he joins a gang and picks up a rocket launcher.
So you're entitled to your own opinion, no one is questioning the bravery of soldiers doing their duty in a rotten situation, but if you can't see how crap like this should be beneath us then I can't help you.

Notice I did NOT defend their actions. I specifically said it was wrong. But to make the soldiers innocent children suffer for dad's stupid actions is wrong.
BTW- We did NOT blow up their infrastructure....they did/are. We did NOT fail to secure the peace, they did/are.
