Why is this forum moderated?

Is there a real need for it? Activities today lead me to believe that no one with a differing opinion of the moderator is safe from undue banning.

This is admittedly a volatile forum, and I like that way as much as it makes me nuts every now and again. With that in mind, a heavily opinionated forum moderator ( I think to be a moderator of THIS forum, you'd have to be, by default) is probably not the best idea.

I vote for removing this forum from all moderation, and future complaints should be referred to the site owners.

What about one from each side?

I think we should find two reasonable people with different beliefs to moderate this forum.

However, generally this forum is pretty civilized. It gets out of hand when somebody loses an argument and then resort to calling people fascist pigs, etc.

Everybody leans towards one side no matter how hard they try to be "neutral" or "moderate."

Generally, you can be placed into one of two groups. Conservative and liberal. There are shades, of course.

Greens are more closely associated with liberals, where libertarians are more closeley associated with conservatives.

And, the bar of politics has a center, therefore there are two sides and strengths along each side.

Typically simplistic.

I tend to consider my self more of a, oh I don't know, contrarian.

No one is in danger of being banned, just relax.

The point of having one was so that trolls can be eliminated quickly. That's the way I see it.

No one should be stopping conversations or discussions based on personal feelings.

The only other thing that needs to be moderated is stuff like name calling and personal attacks. That shouldn't happen.

Since our current moderator abused his power, I think it is reasonable to ask for him to be replaced. Somebody else should get a chance to eliminate trolls, stop personal attacks, and not ban people for disagreeing with him.

How about a second chance? Or is that beneath you?
