Angry

Which Gay Marriage opponent wants to write me a $3671 check?

That is the difference between the taxes paid on my partner's return and my return combined, versus what we would have paid if we were allowed to marry.

It is time for gay-marriage opponents to step up to the plate and put their money where their mouth is.

Oh - and include another $1,200 for the difference in insurance benefits we have to pay.......

If I wrote you a check that would really screw you because you would have to claim it on your taxes next year as income

Yup - so I would pay another $1000 in taxes - still $2500 ahead, but I see your point - to get the effect of equality, the gay marriage oppenents need to send me a check for $4882 - to account for the taxes that I would not have to pay if bigotry and discrimination did not rule in this nation of ours.

Actually, shouldn't it be a gay marriage supporter that writes you the check?

I mean, as far as a gay marriage opponent is concerned, aren't you getting what you deserve?

I don't think everything in life is fair though...many of the people today who get married end up not being in love after awhile. What if you are butt ugly and you can't get anybody to marry you?

I actually have no opinion on Gay marriages, don't care one way or the other... As I have said before, by the numbers, near 50 percent of stright married couples are not impressed with marriage either, enough so to end them... You know each year is different... But my question is, in the years where not being married will benefit you, are you going to pay extra as if you were???

Not true. You can gift as much as $10,000 to any individual in one calander year tax free. Anything over $10,000 is taxable. So go ahead and write Dback Jon that check.

Oh just be smug in the fact that you know the majority of that money is going to pay for social services that you so dearly support. Such sweet irony.

Or maybe its time for a liberal to put his money where his mouth is. Isn't paying taxes a good thing? Shouldn't you be happy to pay more taxes?

Yep.

It's the straight-not-sexually-active-Christian-singles like Stefan that are bringing down America.

Contact John F. Kerry. He's against gay marriage. And he's loaded.
