Anti-Gay Preacher Busted Soliciting 14 Year Old Boy

(West Chester, Pennsylvania) A Pennsylvania preacher known for his fire and brimstone sermons denouncing homosexuality has been charged with offering $20 to a 14-year-old boy for oral sex.
The Rev. Stephen White, better known as "Brother Stephen," regularly visited college campuses throughout the north east, often at Penn and Yale, in Connecticut.
White is awaiting trial, with is set for November 24, but police say they are continuing to investigate White and believe he may have victimized more than one juvenile.
"We believe there may be other victims out there, and that this wasn't an isolated incident," West Chester police detective Stan Billie said.
According to court documents, White approached the teen in a green Ford van and asked if he knew of any strip clubs, adult book stores or shops that sold sexually explicit videos. When then the boy said he did not, White unsuccessfully attempted to lure the boy into the vehicle. White then told the boy he could "make some money" by letting White perform oral sex on him.
After the encounter, the boy reported the van's license plate number to his mother, who then contacted the police.
Campus Crusade for Christ leader Erin Hespe agreed that her organization does not collectively support White.
"Brother Stephen is not involved or affiliated with any of the student Christian groups listed on Penn for Jesus," Hespe said. "The general attitude of these Christian groups has been one of distance, given certain aspects of both Brother Steve's theology and methods."
Campus Crusade for Christ is the umbrella organization for Christian groups at Penn.
Cyd Cipolla, a former coordinator of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Cooperative at Yale, said she was in disbelief when she heard about White's alleged sex offense.
"I'm still kind of incredulous," she told the Yale Daily News. "How is it that anyone can engage in something so clearly taboo, especially someone who presents themselves as so entrenched in morality? I feel sorry for this man and for the boy who crossed his path."
White is charged with criminal attempt to lure a child into a motor vehicle, and criminal solicitation to involuntary deviant sexual intercourse.
Last week, a Florida preacher was charged with attempting to lure a 15-year-old boy for sex. Police arrested Hewart Lee Bennett of West Palm Beach. He is accused of using a gay Internet chat room to pick up the teen. Bennett who is an assistant youth minister at the First Seventh Day Adventist Church in West Palm Beach says he was using the chat room to talk to young boys and girls about being gay and try to put them on the "right path."

Broward deputies said they have arrested a West Palm Beach man who used Internet chat rooms to meet and solicit teenagers for sex while telling investigators he was only trying to lead the youngsters down the path of righteousness.
Here's what BSO spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright said happened near North Lauderdale around 5 p.m. on Monday after a deputy was dispatched to State Road 7 and Northwest 62 Street to check on a suspicious person in a white Buick who was prowling around a house in the neighborhood:
When the deputy arrived, the car was no longer at the house. But it wasn't long before the deputy spotted the Buick nearby. A young man was walking away from the vehicle when the deputy approached the car to question the driver, who identified himself as Hewart Lee Bennett.
Bennett told deputies he was an assistant youth minister at the First Seventh-day-Adventist Church in West Palm Beach and was in the area to talk to young boys and girls about being gay and trying to put them back on the right path. Bennett also said he meets young kids, usually between 15 and 17 years old, on the Internet, preferably in gay chat rooms. He said he had been in the area for about an hour trying to find a teenage boy he'd met online.
When deputies made contact with the young man who was seen walking from Bennett's car, the youth said Bennett stopped him at Bailey Road and asked for directions, then demanded he get in the car. The youngster said he purposely gave Bennett the wrong address, then ran home out of fear. The 15-year-old, whose name was withheld by BSO, said he didn't know Bennett, but had talked to him online in a gay chat room. The youngster said Bennett disguised himself as a young male and he said he (Bennett) "wanted to come over and have anal sexv… and teach me different sexual positions."
When asked about the allegations, Bennett admitted to talking about sex with children he meets online. But Bennett said he only describes sex acts in order to gain their trust so he can tell them about Jesus.
Based on Bennett's own admissions, he was arrested for using a computer service to, or attempt to, seduce, solicit, lure, or entice, a child to commit any illegal sexual or lewd act.
BSO investigators believe this is not the first time Bennett lured a minor to meet him and are trying to determine if Bennett had contact with any other youth online.
Anyone who believes his or her child may have come in contact with Hewart Bennett should call BSO Detective Joe Vella at 954-888-5240.

It is very disappointing to say the least. I mean these people are supposed to be the ones young people come to in times of need and crisis...and that trust is being torn apart seemingly monthly. And we then wonder why kids and young adults don't turn to the religious and wander off to hate groups and drugs/alcohol. Very very sad.
The Catholic Church is a mess but I always laughed at the critics because I think we all knew closer inspection into alot of the religions would turn up sickos too. Obviously the Catholic cover-up makes it 1000x worse.
IMO, there is NOTHING worse in this world that pedophiles...NOTHING. They deserve every pain and misery they get. To prey of young children is despicable in the worst sense.

You're right, though I wouldn't say you are right.
You're right that the Bible preaches against homosexuality. But IMO, and of course we don't need further discussion on this matter, the Bible is all wrong to begin with.
Molesting children, is by far the worst crime I can think of. Offenders should get life sentences.
