Huh? What does Flake have to do with Mormons? What do I have to do with Mormons? Flake's got too much money to lose this.

You have nothing to do with Mormons. Flake had a shakey background and the Mesa, AZ political machine that is the Mormons got him the seat. The guy is a fraud and was elected solely for his religious beliefs

I am not a Mormon. I support Flake beacuse of his voting record not for his religion or party affiliation.
Yes he is my congressman.

I don't have anything against the guy. I just happened to be sitting in on a Mormon stake meeting years ago and the paster 'told' everyone to get out and vote for him. Needless to say, I dumped the girl who brought me there.

Technically, he might be your congressman, but I think it is safe to say that his first allegiance is to his political ideology, even if that puts him at odds with those he was elected to represent.
Case in point from the linked story:
"I will work for Arizona, Jeff Flake has not. He doesn't understand that getting jobs at Boeing is not pork. Getting freeways built for Arizona is not pork." - Stan Barnes.
Stan Barnes is no political neophyte. He is well connected and will be able to rasie money.

More reasons I like Jeff Flake.
He ran on limited governmnet and has lived up to it from what I read. Sounds like he is right in line with my political ideology.
To bad he will be gone in 06. I wish there were more people like Jeff Flake willing to serve in Congress.

That's interesting.
Keno Hawker et al, were really banking on landing that project in order to spur development at Williams Gateway.
The next big issue loomimg for Maricopa County will be the fate of Luke AFB. It will be a real shame if Flake is unable to fall in line and support keeping that base open.

Ryan, I follow politics, including US Senate and House of Representatives, as well as some state governments. I am very familiar with Flake, he has an outstanding libertarian/ constitutionalist record of voting and fighting for limited government, personal freedom, and traditional values.
He is very popular among rich country club republicans who will give him money to run his campaign. I don't think he could beat McCain for example, but he can definitely demolish anybody who tries to take his seat in the House.

You may be on to something:
"I fully expect Flake's East Coast, Wall Street allies to panic and raise a lot of money," Barnes said.
