Thumbs down

Tom Daschle

Does the comments that this guy made towards the President Piss any of you off?

If the guy doesnt agree with military action then so be it that is his right. But his timing on his comments towards Bush IMO are just unacceptable!

This is the time that regardless of opinion you should be showing your support for what our military is getting ready to embark on! Especially as a the minority leader in the Senate!

His comments truly embarrass me!

Supporting the troops and supporting Bush are two TOTALLY different topics. What did you expect?

I disagree with that Bob. President Bush is the commander of the troops, thus supporting Bush is supporting military.

Having said that, I think it's still OK for anybody to say whatever they want, but once first shot is fired in Iraq, they better shut up.

I expect the senate minority leader not to say things like Im ashamed of our presidents diplomatic policies and that his policies have brought us to war!

Especially when we are getting to go to war this county needs to show some unity! PERIOD!

The President is the Commander in Chief. He is leading the troops. Not exactly like George Washington did many years ago, but he is still their leader. Taking a shot at the President right now is like taking a shot at the troops.

It just shows that Daschle's ONLY concern is the reacquisition of power for Democrats. Bush didn't fail diplomatically. Diplomacy failed because France et al were determined to have it fail. Diplomacy had run its course and the UN wasn't going to live up to its responsibilities.

I consider myself a Democrat, but Daschle doesn't have my support at all. If he doesn't agree, that's fine, but he's had how many months to do something about it? Now that Bush is moving forward, all he can do is cry like a little baby and try to show the world that the Democrats don't support the war.

It's petty little things like this that makes countries like Iraq look at us and laugh.

Luckily though, we have enough firepower even with political unrest to blow them back to the stone age.

Down with Saddam!

Great post, Chap.

I guess Daschle doesn't care that most Americans, Republican or Democrat, support the use of force against Iraq.

Enough is enough, let's dethrone Saddam once and for all.

I disagree with this entirely. Tnhe support for the men and women who are over their doing their duties needs to be UNWAVERING. But in no way does wartime mean all of a sudden I am no longer allowed to voice any displeasure I might hav with our governments policies.

It is possible to share some amount of solidarity with the men and women over there fighting yet at the same time be against the purpose of the war.

Disagree. Its not like that at all. Taking a shot at the guy GIVING the orders is the WAY different than taking one at the person obligated by duty and law to follow them. WAY DIFFERENT.

Agreed. Daschle's an idiot. Unfortunately, most politicians are.

Daschle stands 'shoulder to shoulder' with the President

of France.

Yeah, I'm ticked too. Bush's diplomacy "failed" b/c France has a veto in the UN and I'm sure some less than honorable interests in Iraq. France is already starting to backtrack.

Daschle is an idiot. I do admire Bush for taking a strong stand despite a loud minority of opposition.

The part that got me was his comment that if a single American life was lost it would be due to Bush's failure at diplomacy. A low blow and a comment that will come back to haunt him.
